TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

Correct, edited to say Liverpool to Doncaster.

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

Looking at RTT, some changes to the 68 Cleethorpes diagrams in Dec. A set comes off Longsight at 0432 as 5B64 then operates: 1B64 0543 Manchester Airport to Cleethorpes 5B73 0926 Cleethorpes to Liverpool Lime Street 5B80 1319 Liverpool Lime Street to Cleethorpes 1B89 1724 Cleethorpes to...

    Transpennine woes and a moan...

EMR & TPE have mutual ticket acceptance regardless of any cancellations. Northern & TPE have mutual ticket acceptance, but only if one of the others service has been cancelled. So yes, if the TPE prior had been cancelled, they'd be fine on the Northern.

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

Plenty of Cleethorpes Conductors have signed off Oxford Road, and several Sheffield Conductors have already signed off Cheshire Lines, with another Conductor signing it off every week because of the training blocks in the roster. Sheffield Drivers are also continuing their Cheshire Lines route...

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

Well..... the latest I've heard is, it'll eventually be all stations to Lime Street from Dec 23 :|

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

Sounds nothing like what I've been hearing. Both Sheffield and Cleethorpes depots now have several weeks of both traction and route learning built into the roster from 1st August until Dec TT change. Initial calling pattern is supposedly Oxford Road, Irlam, Birchwood, Warrington Central, South...

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

Part of the reason the service is so unreliable is because Drivers are training on Liverpool and Class 68/MK5A traction. Unfortunately, due to the DfT not being willing to allow TPE to fund a Driver rest day work agreement, assessors and instructors/drivers that are training can't work their...

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

On the Conductor side at least, 68/MK5A traction training and route learning for Liverpool is about to ramp up from August. You might see the odd MK5 run in service come the Autumn, but I don't think anything will be diagrammed til December. Good luck with that. The DfT are refusing to...

    Transpennine Industrial Relations

The earliest train from Sheffield to Manchester operated by TPE on a strike day is the 09:11 service, that will be the same for all the remaining strike days.

There's a fair bit of activity at the site of the Bamford Loop, large areas have been cleared already.

Sorry but plenty of people in this thread have explained exactly why payment for scanning is a good idea. As @muz379 says, it's stopping millions of pounds of digital fraud. Northern are very happy with the results of their trial of payment per scan, as far as I know. Old methods of checking...

    Transpennine Industrial Relations

The bit about when it was withdrawn is not correct. The enhanced rate was paid for several months of the pandemic as the ballot was unable to be counted due to covid restrictions. You are correct that it wasn't unexpected, however. 35 hour week to 39 hours.

Thank you anonymous railway worker who knows so much about me already. FYI, I'm well aware Conductors got spare at home, it contributed to my mental breakdown early last year ;)

    Transpennine Industrial Relations

I said no such thing. I said Conductors have been crapped on, I never specified in what regard. Conductors can say what they like, just as you can make out you know everything because you "talk to Conductors." Zero problems with that at all... but the ballot still speaks volumes. You're...

    Transpennine Industrial Relations

Not sure why you're bringing spare at home into a discussion about the dispute about rest day work agreements and ticket scanning. It's weird how you've spoken to all these Conductors, but the ballot result clearly tells a different story given how many voted for strike action and action short...

    Transpennine Industrial Relations

Come off it, Drivers were frequently getting a flat rate of several hundred pounds to come in on their rest day and do 1 shunt to Ardwick and taxi back (and other similar 1-2 hour duties). Don't make it out like they were working their backsides off, because they weren't. Conductors (and other...

That still seems to be the plan as of last week, correct.

Because with every invalid, fraudulent or refunded ticket Conductors are picking up, the TOCs are getting hundreds if not thousands of pounds of extra revenue. Especially if the person is reported and it goes to court. If they get commission for sales, then why not on this? On board sales are...
