I filmed that one going through Huyton at about 00.15 am. Shortly before that a coal train had gone through and, just as I was leaving, the signal changed to green and the train pulling steel came through. Earlier a 319 and a Pendolino had passed through, eastbound. I have a video of the steel...
Thanks Dave,
I got to Huyton at midnight to find the signal on red so I checked via my phone and saw your message that tonight's runs had been cancelled!
Lesson; next time I must check before I go out lol

PS I did see the coal train passing through, though. Local residents must...
Being a cynic I should imagine it's for a political reason and it's being saved to trumpet the government's 'Northern Powerhouse' programme.

The Pendolino flew through Huyton (eastwards) at 00.13. Unfortunately, because of the weather and a...
I was on 319363 out of Liverpool, this morning, When the guard came around checking tickets a woman asked him when the electric trains were starting. He said, "They have and you're on it!"
Just back from a 06.21 Wavertree-Manchester Airport return trip. Everything went well. On the return trip the train was held for 5 or 6 minutes at Newton - le - Willows because it had got ahead of time.

The standard return is £20.30 but a slightly cheaper way is to get a Lime Street - St Helens Junction return for £5.70 and a St Helens Junction...
I've only just realised that "Are you sure?" was meant to convey passenger confusion over Liverpool bound trains using Platform 2, as well as Platform 1.
I read it as asking if I was sure it was the first day after the July blockade.
Sorry for being a bit slow on the uptake, Dave lol :)

Dave,
Thanks for the time and effort taken into sorting all those photos into some sort of order.
In answer to your question... " Are you sure?" on 0898e Huyton. Yes!
Regards,
Bill
Dave,
I have a short video of a 319 going through Huyton Station. I've emailed it to friends and put it on Facebook but can't get it on here.
Any advice would be welcome.
Bill
Just back from Huyton Station; just me and an Orangeman there! He was telling me that everything went smoothly, last night, but even though the trains can run there's still a lot of infilling to do. I think we knew that anyway, but after last night there doesn't appear to be any obstacle to the...
