Not entirely true, we have made ECS movements on the Watford DC line with them to Camden Road via Primrose Hill, however there is no requirement as such as most signals on the DC route are also equipped with TPWS.
Just to clarify they arnt LU tracks, they are NR and LUL uses them (working...
Its the same as any other service in peak times though, I travel regularly on NXEA and even on a 12 car there is often barely even standing room and from New X Gate into London Bridge, often lucky to even be able to fit on let alone get a seat
Thats the VCB opening/closing and yes its suprisingly loud. You'll notice it mostly between Kentish Town West and Camden Road along with sustaining whiplash injuries as the unit lurches, for some reason they dont like passing through neutral sections at 20mph/lower. You'll also hear it at...
Trust me, on our 150's on the secondmans side, as to hit the override you have to press it, then dash back to the chair and open it up and just hope you pass over the TSS before it times out:lol:
Unfortunately, this photo doesnt show where it is, just where it isnt:
From what I can gather, and my traction conversion from 313's to modern stock was a little sketchy.
The traction motors used are 3 Phase AC motors, The DC/AC supply is converted to AC then the frequency of the AC is varied to alter the speed of the motor, presumably this also affects torque...
Davy is bang on the money there, it has infact gone the other way, the east london line has been renewed and resignalled to network rail standards rather than LU standards albeit there is a derogation (spelling) on some of the Railway Group Standards rules. Mainly to do with assistance...
c2c are the most punctual operator now, however that didnt come without the teething trouble they had when the 357's first came out. 378's are having the same typical teething problems now, doors wont open/close, tcms throws its toys out of the pram and refuses to do anything, the PIS gets...
No you are right, but it was a case of having to ring someone and our local council dont have any out-of-hours numbers except for council housing emergency maintenance. I was under the impression that the gritting is funded by a government grant to the local council for it.
If the highways agency actually bothered looking at gritting in sensible places and not just major roads only it would cut a huge number of minor accidents...and inconvenience to me.
I live opposite a T-junction at the bottom of a fairly steep hill, yesterday 3 cars hit the lamppost outside...
I must confess to that one myself, however normally just before rush hour, there is some logic to it however as I'll be getting off at Stratford, last stop before london liverpool street and it saves me having to climb over people to get my bag off the rack and then climb over people to get...
Has anyone heard the new announcement at Stratford station yet.
"Platform 11 for the Southeastern Bus service to, calling at only"
Presumably the other bits of information havnt been added yet, for those that dont know there is now a bus service that operates by an entrance just off the end...
If people think its bad they should try being in the damn cab, there is permanent air-con that you have to turn off by the TCMS (computer screen) and after 20 minutes it turns back on again which drowns out the sound of the AWS and vigilance, and if you set the heating on full-blast you get...
I am led to believe there are a few problems with the external cameras and a few computer issues so there is not much chance of them being used DOO at the moment.
There is a chance the first one is coming out today, yesterday was supposed to go out at 14:30ish but the job got caped, the talk i've been hearing is today though
