Thanks for your help - I ended up going only to Brighton as many of the Ashford - Hastings services were cancelled!

What is the cheapest walk-up ticket(s) which will let me travel London Terminals - Hastings - Brighton - London Terminals off-peak on a weekday? I want to visit both Hastings and Brighton, in that order. My routeing guide fu is weak! :(

VSTP is another mechanism for pushing through a schedule - which can be either a VAR, an STP, or a cancellation. Schedules that come through the normal timetabling process, including the STP process, are validated by ITPS. Those that come through via VSTP aren't.

That's completely correct - the "Class 170" timing load has a maximum speed of 100mph, and the "Class 150, 155 or 156" has a maximum speed of 75mph. It's come up time and time again, but "timing load" isn't the *booked* stock.

The timings used are for a a Class 150/153/155/156 DMU - that doesn't mean it'll actually run with it.

The UID is something completely different - it's the schedule identifier on ITPS and train planning systems

Schedules are deleted from OpenTrainTimes a day or two after their end date because the timetable database is only accurate for the future, not the past. I'm working on a bunch of enhancements, including storing historical data, at the moment, so you'll be able to look back in the past.
