    East Coast Cab Ride

In case he nicks the drivers wallet? Good thinking. He'd have to be strong though. I hear those things can weigh upwards of 50kg on average.

Another Class 70007 on Fire / Another 70 Failure

Good thing FL have more sense than to to buy 60mph engines that have been robbed more than a Liverpool branch of Currys.

    Twitter good or bad?

LM and SWT have great feeds, good info and some good banter too. Gives the companies the human touch. NR are actually good too, as mentioned they tend to stick lovely pictures up of problems and update with engineers ETA etc.

    Twitter good or bad?

Some folk just keep bloody moaning though. *cough*

    Revealing personal details on forums

I try not to reveal too much. I've just been for a dump. Oh, bugger.

Drivers using mobiles while waiting for their train.

Do what you like, as long as it isn't against the Rule Book/company standards. It's not up to people outside of the loop to pass judgement about "not looking professional" or such like. Hardly gross negligence talking on a mobile phone whilst waiting for something. Sounds like some folk have a...

    'Scrap' Replaced Track

Not really. That doesn't prove at all that "most" of the illegitimate trade in railway scrap is carried out by NR insiders.

Another Class 70007 on Fire / Another 70 Failure

Allegedly worked for SNCF drivers and the Cl.92, or so I hear.

Is there anywhere where line-of-sight driving is standard practice?

This still occurs, it's happened to me at Banbury. We got the cats eyes off the main signal and went in behind a Freightliner, and drew up behind it. It got the road and zoomed off, then we dropped down to the main exit signal. First time I've ever seen a permissive loop, and was a bit shocked...

    Worst YouTube videos?

Myself and a driver pal had a good chuckle upon finding one of 365Lances videos of one of our workings. It sounds like he's doing something sinful to himself behind the camera.

Another Class 70007 on Fire / Another 70 Failure

125mph geared Bo-Bo engines do not equate to a decent freight engine.

TGV La Poste at St Pancras 21-03-12

No bother, we've already made use of a 92 before. Extra few lines in the SOI, passports up to date, crack on! Not sure how long the kit would last though. The backup batteries aren't all that when running minus the generators.

    Yes, they can.

    8 MPH Speed

MGR loops at Drax are 3mph and are signed as such. Takes a while to get around, frustrating when you're not actually unloading coal.

    Busy First/Last Trains

I used to get the last train on a Sunday off St. Pancras to Derby and it was usually surprisingly busy.

    DRS 37 + 3 Network rail cars

UTU2 transit from RTC to Heaton as 3Z04, to form 2341 3Q08 Heaton to Neville Hill. Ultrasonic working, testing the Up Fasts between Newcastle and Doncaster, and Doncaster to South Kirkby Jn.

    Network Rail Work Experience

    Folkestone Ctl - Ravensbourne

Long shot here, and I've a feeling it's not, but is the above journey valid via HS1 and STP? SET to St. Pancras and then Thameslink south to Ravensbourne, though I'm not sure the connection at STP is quick enough to make this the fastest option.

Mark, do you know scrap timings Cardiff

Structure Gauging Train. I'm sure the crew will like to know they are looking for loose bricks!
