Driver opportunities with no requirement on distance

My company have really tightened up on this requirement. Think they were sick of people promising they would relocate when what actually happened is as soon as they passed out they threw a depot transfer move in citing "welfare issues ". So now if you're not already in the catchment area then...

    Medical

I use glasses for distance. As long as you're OK with corrected vision they'll be fine. I've never had any problems with my medical.

    Question for upcoming medical

As has been said countless times on other threads honesty is the best policy,in fact the only policy. They'll ask you about any medication you're taking, then tell them. They then may ask you to elaborate eg. Dosage of tablets etc. Honestly this is nothing new to these people. There are people...

Certain meds - an automatic no?

Just tell them on the day exactly what you've put here. You'll be fine. I think people on here are petrified of not being offered or losing an invitation for employment if they declare medication. You won't be. But let me tell you this if you don't declare it and they find out at a later...

    Driver training Prep

As above. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. If I was to put the rule book and sectional appendix in front of you you'd be terrified. It's only when you you've been taught do you realise what it means and what to look for.

New ASLEF site - company information?

As little as that? Seriously though, about time ASLEF kept this behind closed doors. No business of anyone else's what we earn

Trainee Train Driver (and now qualified/'part-qualified') - Newcastle - East Coast Trains

I know we've big changes coming. Hence staying with the devil you know than going with the one you don't

Trainee Train Driver (and now qualified/'part-qualified') - Newcastle - East Coast Trains

This is open access. In these uncertain times I wouldn't be leaving a TOC to go and drive for these I'm afraid. If it didn't work out I believe it could be difficult to get back on with a TOC. Not worth the risk I'm afraid

What procedures are followed when a person is hit by a train?

Thank you very much for doing an essential but what must be an extremely off putting job.

What procedures are followed when a person is hit by a train?

Absolutely. Appalling wording if that's what they used. Killing to me refers to murder and having had a fatality it's not something that I use when referring to it In my opinion 2 weeks off is not enough. I believe everyone is different and he obviously thought he was fine. His subsequent SPAD...

Avanti West Coast - staff shortages?

So no one can get a lieu day off without a RDW agreement? At my depot first 4 are granted regardless of any RDW agreement and if one is in place any extras requests covered by a rest day man/woman

    Trespass incidents

Yellow button for me,not stopping every train in the immediate are for one scrote taking a short cut.

What procedures are followed when a person is hit by a train?

Had a fatality myself. I echo a few previous comments on here. Don't know what the clean up gang get paid but whatever it is it's not enough.

EMR Various Driver Roles - Liverpool

You're paying into the railway pension scheme (RPS) already? All TOC's have different levels of employee contribution, mine is 12% another TOC could be less.

    Drivers assessment

You're not ready to take the assessment anytime soon. The way you're feeling and from what you've written I personally think you should talk to someone impartial be it counselling or something similar. I failed 1st time, passed 2nd,loads do,you can be one them but not yet. Not until you've...

‘Driver’ isn’t the only job on the railway

Been there. Did it for 2yrs. Wouldn't want to do it again. Hardly do any rest days now, and only booked Sunday if I can't get shut
