My main concern with the plastic railcards is that the text does wear off if you keep it in your physical wallet all the time, it’s due to the constant contact with the leather and other cards. It would be ideal if you could store a virtual railcard in the Apple of Android wallet, rather than...
V sets have very little luggage space, and the toilets are not suitable for stouter passengers, Oscars are very much the poor relation on the Newcastle line, will the Oscar’s sets retain their toilets for T1 and T9 services?
I thought Nuremberg U2/U3 were driven remotely by a human train driver? Sydney Metro does not have staff onboard the trains, but it has plenty of platform staff
Does the XPT count? One sleeping car to Melbourne and another to Brisbane/Casino. Plus Queensland has the Spirit of Queensland between Brisbane and Cairns
I used to commute from MK to Barclaycard in Northampton, I used the back road from Newport Pagnall, the amount of traffic coming south in the morning peak was far greater than that travelling north
The other thing to bear in mind is where in San Diego you are going to, Amtrak doesn't stop in that many places before San Diego Old Town, whereas the Coaster stops in more places
Two things to bear in mind:
1. Immigration is a LOT quicker and nicer at San Diego airport
2. The Metrolink/Coaster train option needs to be fully investigated as it doesn’t seem to operate much at weekends and even during the week it’s not as good as it used to be
