London's CP6 Access For All station nominations

As we approach the start of the upcoming funding for the Access for All programme next year, nominations for step-free station candidates appear to be in full swing. Particularly, while responding to a petition about step-free access in Leytonstone, the Mayor of London remarked that there were...

    Crossrail construction

Is there a corresponding hoarding on the NCL level? I have not visited Moorgate in a while I was always worried that step-free access would only reach the Northern Line.

    Crossrail construction

Is there any current information/update regarding lift access to the Northern City line? I have tried searching but have not found much talking about those platforms.

Lib Dem politican critcises Crossrail for non-standard platforms

Looking at the full article, shown in the tweet below, it seems to suggest that the trains should have been made with low floors like the Stadler Rail trains thay will run on Merseyrail and Greater Anglia. https://twitter.com/Thatcargeek/status/1024569054982545413?s=19

Lib Dem politican critcises Crossrail for non-standard platforms

From what I've read previously, every Elizabeth Line platform from Abbey Wood to Paddington will have this high platform height.

Lib Dem politican critcises Crossrail for non-standard platforms

I don't think they adapted the platforms to the standard height on the existing stations on the eastern and western branches. And for historical reasons, platforms were built lower at the western stations. All the new stations will have the same high platforms.

    Finsbury Park disused platform

What will happen once lifts are added to platforms 5-6 and this becomes the only step-free way to access services on platform 7? Will both sides open?

    Oxford area rail infrastructure improvements

Oh ok, that makes a lot of sense! It will be interesting to see how it turns out and if it does have an important on boarding. Thanks!

    Oxford area rail infrastructure improvements

I just looked at the Oxford upgrade page on National Rail and saw something I had not noticed before. It appears that part of platform 3 will be raised during the upcoming blockade. I have been to Oxford station a few times and never thought the step to the train was any larger than usual. Is...

Siemens wins contract to build 94 trains for the Piccadilly line

Does anyone know how many coaches these new trains will have and their individual lengths? Also, the 2014 Siemens video shows full level boarding at Caledonian Road and King's Cross St Pancras, which would require major platform reconstruction or trains with lower floors (if it is even...

    TfL Rail - confusing map

Looking at this video (starting at 55 s) at Terminal 4, you can see that the train floor is not actually level with the platform. What I though was that the 345's would have a lower floor, like the Heathrow Express rolling stock, to allow level boarding.

    TfL Rail - confusing map

This is relatively minor compared to the other flaws mentioned, but if the 345's are not planned to run to Heathrow starting on the 20th, the blue wheelchair blobs shown on the Heathrow stations are not accurate since the 360's do not have level boarding. Does anyone know approximately when...

Why do so few trains have level access?

Does anyone know the reason why there are no platform humps at Highbury & Islington's ELL platforms while they were installed nearby at Canonbury? Both stations appear to have very similar platform layouts, where the ELL is more or less segregated from the NLL and no freight should be expected...

    Finsbury Park Lift

I have a small query regarding the step-free access work at Finsbury Park. Currently there are lifts for platforms 1-2, and from what I've seen, there will be another lift at platforms 5-6 that will connect to the Underground. My first question is: When trains call at platform 7, do doors open...

    St Pancras Thameslink Harrington humps

Speaking of Thameslink humps, does anyone know if/when Farringdon will get them? Last time I passed it was the only core station without them.

Northern City Line not fit for purpose

With regards to accessibility om the NCL, does anyone here know if the step-free access works done for Crossrail at Moorgate will include the NCL platforms? I would think that since they are directly above the Northern line platforms, which are getting lifts, that they would also gain step-free...

    New lift shafts at Waterloo?

I travelled into Waterloo platform 3 yesterday off-peak and I noticed that there are two large hoardings at platforms 1-4 near the entrances to the peak hour subway. The only thing I could see through a small window in the hoardings was a large hole going beneath the platforms. Does anyone know...
