CS have been backed into a corner here. They might have no choice, but to use the new stock even if they aren't confident in it. The late delivery of the mk5's has certainly more impact if they have based their whole exam and maintenance schedule of the MK3 and 2's on an on-time delivery.
You'll certainly make friends with the folks on your course. My group of 10 ate dinner together every night, carpooled in the mornings, helped each other with revision in the evenings, stayed behind after the end of the day to get time on the simulator. Good group of lads and we all stay in...
Highlander stuck behind the broken Lowlander. Couldn't make this up could ya! The mk5's were clearly not ready for service, I wonder if TPE are having similar issues with their stock or if it's unique to the sleepers? Someone has dropped the ball, CAF, CS, TfS or a combination of them all...
Also if they can only haul the damaged set at 15mph that severally restricts where they can do it. Can't see them getting them down to Wembley or up to Scotland for the work.
Just don't mention using phones or other personal electronics. Some boxes allow radio's, but unless you know for certain then don't say that.
From what I remember I said: Box housekeeping, reading, crossword puzzles/soduko etc. You may get a follow up like how will you stay alert and I think I...
Just reading up on the last few months posts.
Glad to see a pay deal has been reached that included NWR at least looking into opening discussions about leisure travel.
On vacancies I believe all the open positions at Willesden Carriage boxes and Wembley Yard in the last few months were...
I wonder where GNWR plan on stabling and maintaining their fleet. Alstom in Wembley would be the obvious choice at the South End of the route, though they don't have experience with MK4 coaches or class 91 engines. Plus they are pretty busy with the fleet of 390's and soon to be replaced sleeper...
Does anyone know when some of the Mk5 stock will appear at Wembley? I'm a signaller at Willesden Carriage Shed North and have been rather looking forward to seeing the new stock in person (and maybe getting a look inside!)
Just caught up on dozens of pages since my last visit. I've been passed out now for a year now and enjoying the job, though I am very fortunate to have a pretty amazing roster and a grade 3 with inner London allowance and Sundays etc etc my yearly pay was very healthy.
Just a note, don't give...
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm not sure how long it takes to fire up a 67 from cold so could have held up other services, and yes it did have DB Cargo loco's.
Just wondering if anyone knows why the ECS for the football special today is going all the way to Bletchley just to come all the way back down to Wembley Yard to wait for the return journey. It has locos on both ends so why didn't it just go straight in? Also don't football specials normally go...
Here here, its almost as if people think train operators don't want to run trains. I would not have wanted to be in CS control last night! Interestingly they didn't wait for Willesden Carriage Shed North to open at 20:00 to bring 5M16 in to Wembley depot ;)
