McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

The 20 & 63 are tendered services, so McGill’s won’t increase the frequency. If they have any additional resources they will clearly use them on their own commercial routes.

    First Greater Glasgow

If you hand back SPT tenders before the end of the contract, they are entitled to charge you the difference between your contract rate and any replacement, that costs them more. Unless of course SPT have decided to cancel them all, which is unlikely. Alternatively, they may have found an...

    Bluestar Discussion

Ah, right, that would make sense. They seem quite restrictive with their day ticket bundles, when compared with other ops.

The 757 doesn’t use the M8, but as you say, there are many other services that do.

Return of Mr Shamrock aka Clayton Jones

I thought he’d only ever started a few of the many routes he registered? He ‘started‘ during the current economic situation, so not sure why anything should have come as a surprise to him.

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

Highland Council Register New Bus Routes

It will be interesting to see how Highland Council get on with driver recruitment, and how their pay rates will compare with the likes of Stagecoach, D&E etc.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

…and First didn’t hand it back either back in the summer. The contract term came to an end, and they declined to accept the optional 1 or 2 year extension. Negotiations with City of Edinburgh Council resulted in the current reduced timetables, primarily down to the lack of available drivers at...

Standing on buses on a route usually operated by coaches

Every bus and coach has a maximum seating/standing capacity, which must be displayed prominently inside the vehicle. The authorised capacity is set as part of the build process, and is nothing to do with the individual operator. The vast majority of coaches do not permit standing passengers...
