Stopgap options to cover for delays to introduction of Class 175 for GWR?

I think they're the ones with corrosion problems

Diamond Bus East Midlands (was Midland Classic of Burton)

There is an optimum size for a small operator before you have to restructure to start acting like a large operator. If you are owned by a group that is fine as admin functions etc can be shared but if you are a 'one man band' then you can go from being profitable to loss making due to the extra...

Is there a Midland 4-4-0 available to pilot? :D

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

They would have anyway as LCRCA have decided to buy a full new fleet.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Arriva have had most of their new vehicles over the past year or so delivered in Metro livery.

    EMR Regional and Connect refurbishments

I have no issues with criticism of a TOCs performance or that someone isn't seeming to do a good job of leading it. What I do have an issue with is calling someone derogatory names (even if you think it is mild) - the original post has been edited since I replied to remove said insult so I can...

    EMR Regional and Connect refurbishments

So you know him personally to pass judgement like that? Don't you think some of the issues have been beyond his control e.g. 810 quality problems, 222s going off lease?

    DRS to sell Class 57/3s

But aren't GBRf getting rid of locos at the moment as 99s arrive?

    Northern Class 323 & 350 Cascade Updates

Can we leave discussion about routes etc to speculation thread until something is officially announced that clearly states how they are going to operate. This thread is meant to be for the recording of transfer, refurbishment and introduction into service.

West Coast Motors & Borders Buses

Compass in Sussex have buses in Stagecoach livery for services they operate on behalf of Stagecoach, so not unheard of.

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

I agree, the Northern livery always looks unfinished to me on anything that isn't a 2-car unit.

    Class 93 Tri-mode Loco

Without speculating too much, it depends on how well the various trials go. Whilst ROG might not order any more, DRS or Freightliner might order their own (or via a leasing company) if suitably impressed

Diamond Bus East Midlands (was Midland Classic of Burton)

That only works for so long until the money runs out. Local Authority Bus Grant is a fixed sum for three years with no adjustment for inflation etc. so at some point even the present supported network could become unaffordable.

    Carousel Buses (Go-Ahead group)

There are a few routes such around the country that have suffered the same issue, due to the weather trees are drooping causing damage to deckers.

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

The terms of the scheme do allow for large groups to be refused travel or even for an operator to take a route out of the scheme (in consultation with the LTA) if there is ASB

    Northern Class 323 & 350 Cascade Updates

We don't know yet, hence why the main thread is in the Speculation section and this bit is for the factual movements etc. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/class-350-2s-to-replace-323s-on-northern.304462/page-10#post-7864241

    East Anglia Bus Scene

The DfT have been giving more and more funding to operators / authorities who were successful in previous ZEBRA rounds, thus First Eastern Counties (in Norfolk) has had a few rounds of funding allowing expansion of the electric fleet beyond Norwich.

South Yorkshire bus franchising gets go ahead

Go Ahead will likely be another. As for who will win, there are no guarantees that the existing operators will dominate as Arriva found out in Merseyside and Stagecoach in GM.
