LOROL are very good with their recruitment. I applied Dec. 1st assessment Jan and 2nd in Feb. Interview then medical in March. Start date In May.

Railway recruitment isn't know for is speed. Saying that though I just had an excellent experience with LOROL's recruitment program. Very efficient, maybe someone else with experience with FGW could shed some light on their process.

Don't be put of by the roster patterns and shift work. You can almost 100% of the time get what ever day you need off to attend that school play, parents evening etc. Providing you have a bit of notice by either finding someone to do a mutual exchange of duties or asking a DSM if he/she can move...

No no no. Do not keep it to yourself. The thing with the railway is if you lie about something you are putting the nails in your own coffin. Be honest otherwise it could come and bite you in the arse.

There is a second smaller SJT you sit before the MMI that links into the follow questions you will be asked by the assessor. SJTs are basically a personality test to see what kind of person you are i.e. Team member, safety conscious, not breaking rules etc.

Yeah I was aware of the 24hr ops. Maybe that's a contributing factor to the recruitment drive.
