    Football

We need to play 2 up front, 5 across midfield just doesn't work and sometimes Fenlon needs to be a little less cautious, today's first half was a case in point. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Aye, time for the MLB's Chicago Cubs to take over the record for longest time without...

Neither - because we're going to win it.

    Football

Having been there today it bloody felt like last May all over again, of course the euphoria and pandemonium in the Stands when Griffiths' shot hit the back of the net to make it 4 is one that can only compare to March 2007 when we won the League Cup. If anyone wants to see the winning goal...

Trains You Would Love To See On Your Local Line

Can't wait to see 350s up here doing the TPE services - I now wait patiently for next year to come along, barring any cock ups (I won't hold my breath!)

North Korea in a 'State of War With South'

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if some of them believed every single word said about the Kim family. If they protest their entire family will be locked up and all will likely worked to death - of course that assumes that they aren't executed first. I'm beginning to wonder how much of this...

Gatwick Express Class 460's replaced by Class 442's: Your opinion

Ah well, not that it bothers me, just thought there might have been a chance given their history of being used on longer distance journeys. Won't be fiddling around with Sockets at Gatwick though, chances are I'll be getting my bag and hauling ass to the station to board my train up to London.

Gatwick Express Class 460's replaced by Class 442's: Your opinion

Looks like I will be using this Service in June as I'm going on a little trip to Berlin and returning via London (spending 2 days in London) - flying into Gatwick and obviously the quickest way to get up to London is by Train. I'm assuming that the 442s don't have sockets for laptops or phones...

    Favourite rolling stock

DMU: Class 170 - good machines, if a little noisy when they're really trying to shift. EMU: Class 323 - although I have never ridden one, the sound of the traction motors when they start off is just marvellous! DEMU: Class 221 - rode one down from Dundee back to Edinburgh on a cold October's...

    Rolling stock game

Looks like the 376 to Sidcup from Woolwich Arsenal was a valid step, as such, I will use a 465 to London Cannon Street.

Good Locations in and around Edinburgh

Yeah I'm at Heriot-Watt, didn't know you drove buses though, still with Lothian? Longniddry is a good shout actually, Cousin lives out that way so I could always stop by and pay him a visit after a photo trip.

Good Locations in and around Edinburgh

I know the first foot crossing very well actually, as I cross it fairly often on my way to and from uni if I'm cycling or walking. Not looking to travel too far, about half an hour out of Edinburgh is probably as far as I'd be willing to go.

    Class 323 odd noise.

Nothing quite like it, must be said, I only wish they had 323s in Scotland, I could listen to those beauties departing all day.

    Edinburgh Waverley Access

was there today, I concur on the slow part but all the escalators heading up the steps were working today both when I went in and came out.

Journeys between train stations which can be made quicker on foot!

I dunno but I have a sneaking suspicion that a journey from Glasgow Queen Street to Glasgow Central is quicker on foot than by getting trains (from Low Level platforms).

Yes but would be willing to take bus or cycle as well

Good Locations in and around Edinburgh

OK so today I took the plunge and went to Kingsknowe and did some photography, my first time - after much procrastination on my part I've been saying I'll do it one day for a couple years now . Now I'm hoping the members of the forum can give me some guidance as to good locations around...

    Query Regarding Train Wifi

I went down to London in October from Edinburgh and was in first class, and brought my computer along with me (mostly to watch films etc.) but the wifi was good, streaming was disabled for obvious reasons, and in parts the signal dipped a bit (but EC highlighted areas where WiFi signal was...

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

I'm travelling down this Saturday to London for the NFL International Series at Wembley with my Dad and we're travelling first class, so at least I know that the Breakfast we get served will be rather poor, we'll end up buying lunch in M&S just over the road from the Waverley.
