For me there's something incomplete with the front of the Transport for Wales livery on the 175.
3 mins in paint and I think a red border under the lights improves the look.
CAF offered a battery version of their EMUs to New Zealand so they clearly have the capability. The only issue would be the amount of running the battery could handle off the wires.

The Auckland EMUs are from CAF, the Wellington EMUs are from Hyundai Rotem and Mitsui. Interestingly CAF offered to supply some sets with batteries to operate off the wires but the order was amended to regular EMUs when the government committed to electrify the line. If only our government had...
Thanks, wasn't aware that they had another design for 220kmh (which in my opinion is much prettier!). Seems they've gone full circle and are now procuring a fleet of 200km/h Coradia's. Makes you wonder what the business case was for 250km/h and why they've now abandoned it.
I think the styling was meant to be reminiscent of the original BeNeLux trains - The Hondekop Trein. Whether it's successful or not is personal taste but I can see where they were trying to go. It's a shame they couldn't have fitted a coupler cover though considering how many faults they had...
I highly doubt Hitachi is trying to shield themselves from this as that would go against Japanese business culture.(https://theculturetrip.com/asia/japan/articles/sumimasen-behind-japans-apology-culture/)
You only have to see the personal apology video from Karen Boswell for the aircon fault...
That's the same as Hong Kong but the benefit is you can check your luggage in up to 24 hours before departure.
When I was living there it meant I could go to the station in the centre of Hong Kong at 8am, check in for my flight, drop my luggage off and collect my boarding pass. I'd then head to...
The Danish IC3 & IC4 can run together.
They run them out of Copenhagen together and split them to serve different destinations along the route.

My original thought was to reduce both fleets to 3 car to give 30 x 3 car 333's to allow for doubling up in the peaks but as has been pointed out elsewhere the 332's are missing TPWS which would be expensive to fit. That and Northern have the 331's on the way.
It's a shame, the 332/333 family...
There's also the displaced Heathrow Express Class 332 units that will be available now which comprises of 14 x 4 car trains (plus 5 additional coaches)
It's a shame the GWR contract for HEx wasn't agreed two years ago, Northern could have used the HEx332's to increase capacity on the Airedale...
