was in the 3 pm from Glasgow to Inverness. Was 40 mins late into INVERNESS. Every station from Perth North one power car stalled when we stopped. To a few minutes to restart it.
Thought HST was ok on HML on one power car?
Was in Glasgow yesterday HST was really good. As eh ms maintenance teams are getting on top of things that is really good.
Am sure Wabtec will get production up and we will see steady improvement. Only cyclists left unhappy!
The issues have to be seen as multiple failings. First Angel trains own the assets. Surely up to them to lease to Scotrail a product that works. So I would imagine the contract with Wabtec and Brush who are a part of Wabtec, will be with Angel trains.
Angel trains then have a contract with...
Changing the operator will not necessarily change the performance of the service.
more than that needs to change. There is no focus on customers, on many occasions it appears that passengers are a nuisance.
the project management of the HST programme has been and continues to be simply...
Lighting is fine most of them run with only half the lights on. Fine for working.
Classic interiors are fine as well even if high density seating is not perfect it is better than standing by a country mile.
I would be surprised can’t see why any HML passengers would say that. The lack of cold air at every station and the noise are hard things to prefer over the HST environment.
I have never heard any passenger say that.
What we also need to remember here is the maintenance teams were really good at looking after 170/158’s.
They don’t suddenly become useless if they aren’t delivering on the HST then there is a reason that can be fixed.
it just needs someone to work out what training or support is needed.
That will only be counting trains that attempt to make a journey not the substitutions because the HST never made the start line. When you are celebrating having four trains in service in one day think that puts things in some perspective.
Does that really surprise you? Doesn’t surprise me. Scotrail are always quick to pass the blame. Never take responsibilty.
the Wabtec excuse is gone now in reality. They did nothing on the power cars. Up to Scotrail to keep Them running. Other can do it so why can’t they.
Inergen fire suppression is not unique to HST’s. It is used extensively elsewhere in the world.
no need not to use the power car storage. Whatever the reasons it isn’t the inergen system.
don’t hold back eh? I work in an office of about 100 + people who regularly commute from Inverness to Edinburgh and Glasgow. There won’t be many days we don’t have people on the HML.
the view amongst them is overwhelmingly positive on the HST. They even are happy with the classic sets...
Have to say I found them ok, but just ok. They weren’t as uncomfortable as I had been expecting actually ok, I am 6’2.
But they lack a wow factor.
If I was honest and it was a choice between an IET or a refurb HST. I would choose HST. Which isn’t really that good a verdict. Opportunity...
I think the frustration is around the time it is taking Scotrail to get the reliability figures up to the required standard.
not met anyone yet who really has a strong criticism of a journey in a refurb HST. They are excellent.
just need to get them running. The teams provided very...
Think probably the designers have reckoned that with most devices having a battery back up this wouldn’t be an issue. I have a HP laptop and this certainly doesn’t happen so it must be the configuration of the laptop.
To be fair have lived this experience but only usually when the cause is snow
staff must be weary of the mess now though. Must be tired off apologising and explaining what is going wrong.
Think you are correct. But really after a year or more this should not be getting worse it should be an improving picture.
Makes me think is the slowdown in deliveries by Wabtec deliberate so as to minimise embarrassment?
