Notice the livery looks quite dirty and tired on the power cars very quickly. A few look pretty poor already. Think the vinyl is quite stained and doesn’t seem to clean very well. Shame as otherwise a very good product.

If you do the journey in winter to Inverness in a 170 you wouldn’t make that comment.

It is good news, just a shame that the demand is not likely to return for some time to make them the success they surely deserve to be. The maintenance teams seem to be getting on top of them as well and reliability isn't an issue anything like it was.

Inverness sorely needs improved public transport. This is a great opportunity to create something transformational. It could hopefully also create new potential opportunities for new transport routes. If buses and trains can be linked then it could stop car travel being so prevelant.

To be fair private car use is pretty essential in the Highlands. You still can’t really live in Inverness without a car. The dream of public transport is incredibly difficult to make a reality in a rural area like the highlands.

It is common for people to stand on HML services. That isn’t acceptable given the distances involved. How many don’t even try the train because of the overcrowding? HML needs extra capacity.
