    The "Name the Station" game

Clue 2: This station has at least one character in its name that is not a letter. (Spaces are counted as characters and therefore something like Thorpe Bay [the real Twerp for anyone who doesn't know] would be a valid response to this clue.) Speaking of which... Nice try

    Visiting every station in britain

For something like this, you should be counting stations if they are served by National Rail, end of, if that is the intention. Merseyrail is part of National Rail, Stourbridge Town is part of National Rail, and all of the Overground counts too - as does the Island Line. But things like the Tyne...

    Settlement Association

Most people on this forum would have assumed you were referring to the Whitton near Twickenham without the detail that followed. And yes, I am using that as an association.

"Continental Railways Are Better Than Ours"

A quote from a gentleman sitting near me on a train in the Bonn area about ten years ago: "Zherman trains are alvays overcrowded."

    The "Name the Station" game

Well that's my idea out the window  I was thinking possibly Winnersh, which would count Reading and Guildford (the latter being one service per day). Instead, I shall call Warwick. There are regular services to London and Birmingham, with Chiltern and (less often) London Midland serving...

    Football

Absolutely amazing. Bizarre circumstances forcing a bizarre result... The Wiki says that Barbados needed to win by two goals to qualify, and that Golden Goals counted double. Barbados went two up, putting them in the position they needed - but when Granada scored one back, they were in...

    Station association

Newport (Suth Wales) is also sometimes thought of as a white elephant. This is of course due to the new footbridge structure.

    The "Name the Station" game

I have a nasty suspicion I know where it is, so I'm going to have to ask the obvious: Is your definition of "City" based on the formal definition and therefore restricted to those found here? If yes, my idea is out the window (as I would hope); if no, there are two destinations served from this...

That black at the front just looks wrong. A bit like using what looks like a Centro on a tourist route. Oh wait...

Is this the same concrete corridor that almost cost gnolife and I 15 minutes in the Challenge last October? (The one leading out onto Chapel Street?)

    Merseytravel Visit

I think that's probably the second longest trip report in the forum's history! ...cue a  in relation to this... Seriously though, well done on all that effort, and an interesting piece to read too (I will assume - about to read now). You may have a few too many pics though. EDIT...

    The "Name the Station" game

Wouldn't half of Strathclyde count for this? Any station whose services are formed by exactly two of 314/318/334/380 and nothing else? ...or am I missing something?

Most surprising place you've bumped into forum members?

I met up with sonic2009 on the WAG once, whilst meeting with other forum members (!), but that's pretty much it. I think every other time has been planned.

Competition 728 (Side by side) :: Voting

Ditto on both parts. It does seem strange comlementing the lack of A4s though! On a side note, #2's caption is too long for my liking.

Adventures around Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire with Trainboy98-29/6/13

A well-written report with lots of interesting detail and good pictures to boot. My only criticism is that you've spelt "Merseyside" in the title as "Mereyside" (i.e. without the first "s").
