I'm a senior conductor based at Coventry. The pay rate is the same for senior conductors however the increase in pay whilst training differs from each depot.

It would really depend what depot you will be based at as each one has different terms and conditions per depot

Some tocs provide accomodation as the training may not be in the area that the depot you apply for is based. So for example I work for west midlands trains at the moment and the majority of the training is done in Birmingham. However London northwestern railways is also part of that company and...

I completely understand the difference in traction training as I work for west midlands trains at the moment. I was meaning establishment within the amount of current driver's and the numbers that are needed. Hopefully the training continues and the transition to the new trains is smooth

Double check the conditions of each TOC you apply for as most TOCs only accept applications within either 45 minutes or and hour travelling to the depot you apply for

Perhaps the establishment isn't quite as good as what they first thought.

Hopefully the training schools continue after this next one that starts in march

I think that a member of this forum has an email reply from Nexus stating there was 52 people in the talent pool.

The training is intense with loads of assessments wherever you work however if you stay focused on it then you should be fine

So is this your first job on the railways. I'm a senior conductor now and love it. You'll find that the majority of people are really nice even from other tocs

I might be wrong but the 5 years for the medical might be the periodical medical that you will have to have whilst working on the railways. As the medical is prior to starting they may ask to do it again just in case peoples health has changed in that amount of time

With it being 12 months until the next course at least do you think that they will want people who have had a medical already to have another one prior to starting training. I do think that the delay in the new traction is one of the reasons behind the delay of 12 months

It would be interesting to know how many people they have on a course
