Its an article on the problems of automated barriers with some valid points...so what is your point? Its you that spouts idle speculation on an issue that in fact you know very little about!

Thankyou, you've answered the blackwatch's question for me, it only needs common sense dosen't it. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Nat EX trains division reports a passenger growth of 9% & pre tax profits of£39.6 million, East Coast has seen revenue growth of 11%, hardly...

    NXEC plans to barrier stations

Who said I support NEXEC redeplotment of staff, I think National Express "a Bus Firm" stink and can't wait while they have to hand the franchice back!. What I am telling you is that you can't w3alk through a barrier without a valid ticket unless there is no facility to buy one! --- old post...

    NXEC plans to barrier stations

Its the Railway Bye-Laws easily found if Googled. If you want to see it in action just get yourself down to Doncaster or Peterboro when they're being gated. Believe me the BTP are on hand to do their job, not to tell the staff off! What you are spouting is just ill concidered opinion and not Fact!

    NXEC plans to barrier stations

It would be the boys in blue laying their fingers on you as you were breaking the law by trying to pass through a barrier without a valid ticket! Forget the fact that GC sell tickets onboard, so do Northern and for that matter NXEC, if there is a barrier you need a valid ticket to pass through!

    NXEC plans to barrier stations

As I have said before NEX have every right to install ticket barriers at stations that they run, simply saying that you intend to buy your ticket on board is not good enough and you will be directed to the booking office to buy a valid ticket to pass through the barrier.

    GC vs NXEC

They're not thats why I say "when in force" because every now and then they are indeed putting on barriers, which they are entitled to do!

    GC vs NXEC

NXEC can chose to barrier any station that they run, you will find at KX (run by Network Rail) they only control the boarding of their own trains where as at Peterboro, Doncaster & Wakefield when in force every person has to show a valid ticket, York I'm sure they would consider a logistical...

    GC vs NXEC

Read the posts in this thread! This was in reply to the the people on here who seemed to think they could bluster through a ticket barrier! As I have stated it won,t happen to GC customers at York or KX were GC stop because they are Open Stations!

    GC vs NXEC

My point exactly! NEXEC staff as I have said do not care whether you are traveling on a NEXEC, Virgin, Northern,TPE or GC ! Staff on the ground are unconcerned how much profit NEX make because at the end of the day if it all goes pear shaped for NEX they'll hand it back to to Government like...

No I said refusing to show a valid ticket was fare evasion, something that hundreds are prosecuted for every year ending up with a criminal record! For the record I didn't call anyone a liar! Just because you don't believe an event that a person recounts doesn't mean your calling them a liar...

If it is about providing direct trains between the Durham Coast towns and the Capital then NEXEC could argue that GC should not "pick up" at York!

    GC vs NXEC

You really do make all this up as you go along don't you, NEXEC did not re-route via Selby, it was booked that way under GNER and in fact Goole hasn't had a direct service with London since BR
