Cross-country overcrowding: what could be done?

Yes, I believe that is booked. The 0748 from Glasgow Central is usually a five coach set.

    Britain's Most Scenic Bus routes

Citylink 926 is a great route for views, best bit is the rest and be thankful.

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

I wrote this late a night, so might not be too enthusitic about the route when in fact, the views in parts were great. As for the 554, I fell asleep for a good chunk of the route. I do like the 554 as its handy to get to Carlisle without going via Penrith. The lesser spotted 553 is a good trip too.

A lot more what I paid in the Winter. I paid around £70.

I have stayed at the Wetherspoons Hotel, have you checked prices for that? The Premier Inns and Travelodges command high prices in the summer.

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

Last weekend I took the 888 from Newcastle to Keswick. I have been wanting to do this route for a long time. Living north of the border, the times made it a bit of challenge to get to Newcastle for 9am. To get to Newcastle I took a Scotrail service from Croy to Edinburgh and short connection...

    First Greater Glasgow

I remember seeing a Gemini on the 44 in late 2004 and it turned heads as it looked so modern. 1786981087 Do the tap off ticketer machines ever work?

National Express routes which could be introduced

There is always the coach traveller that wont travel by train due to cost. I have noticed they have been combining routes such as the 032 going into Heathrow. There is still a gap for a daytime service from Edinburgh via Manchester.

    First Greater Glasgow

I preferred the B7TLs, they felt smoother and rock solid. The B9TLs still seem a new bus to me but reality is they are nearly 20 years old.

I am interested in travelling the Northstar 873 although its either spend a 4 and half hours at High Force or return on the 1145 to Bishop Auckland.

    Britain's Most Scenic Bus routes

I tried the 78 for the first time, more scenic than I thought. I did do the 77 a decade ago and will do it again when I have more time.

National Express routes which could be introduced

A fair few of the services post covid that were brought back or new don't seem to last like the 184 from Edinburgh to Liverpool or Bournemouth to Gatwick 206. Surprised the NX Kent services are holding on, mind there is no Flixbus down there. 1786461421 Yes, there was also the A3 Gatwick to...

TransPennine Express checking the appetite for charging for seat reservations?

I noticed when I used TVM to buy a Wigan to Preston, it spat out a seat reservation, I didnt even go to my reserved seat. Quite often I just go to the unreserved carriage. SWR have no seat reservations even on the long routes, people seem to cope.

National Express routes which could be introduced

I think NX used to call into East Midlands Parkway or the Airport.

    Budget hotels discussion

How are forum members finding prices in the USA? I was hoping to go over in a few months but rates even at the lower end are pretty high. I guess that's down to exchange rate.

One minor issue with Premier Inn up near the station, was no shop or somewhere to get something to eat early doors. My fault for getting out at 6am though!

Premier Inn Chester Railway Station Booked this one as I was arriving late into Chester and leaving early to go to Wales. Usually this Premier Inn has high prices for Friday and Saturday nights but I git it for a reasonable £74. I have stayed at one of the Travelodge's in Chester City Centre...
