How does BVE, OpenBVE and Rail Simulator compare to MSTS in terms of features and playability?
One of the features that's important to me is free downloads that are available especially rolling stock and routes. How does this compare to MSTS?
Are the...
Hi all,
Which train sims will run on my PC?
My specification is 2.66 GHz Intel Celeron CPU with 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 Memory
Intel GMA 900 Integrated Graphics with 128MB shared memory with DirectX 9 support. Might be possible to upgrade graphics if I can find a PCI card - doesn't have...
Hi all,
Just out of curiosity why would this first class journey with Virgin be cheaper than in standard class?
Details from National Rail Enquires website.
Travelling on Saturday, 11th July
0859 VT service from Nuneaton to London Euston
First Advance Single = £26.50
Standard...
Hi all,
Just a quick question - I apologise if it's a silly one - if I book 2 tickets at the same time will the booking system automatically reserve two seats together, assuming that there are two adjacent seats available?
The same question again, but for 3 or 4 tickets booked at the same...
Many thanks for your reply.
Does that mean that I need to decide which days I wish to use the rover when I buy the ticket - or can I choose the days as I go along?
My reason for asking is that my health isn't great at the moment and I'm concerned that if I book Monday and Tuesday, for example...
Hi all,
I'm thinking about buying a rover or ranger ticket next week.
I have a couple of quick questions regarding the Heart of England rover.
Firstly, I know you can buy them for 7 days or 3 in 7 days. Is it possible to buy them for one day - I suspect that it isn't - I prefer the...
There were sugar holders on the tables but on all the tables around me they were all empty. I have seen sugar in them before on a different service - perhaps it was simply an oversight as they were busy.
I've been in a few situations over the past year or so where no sugar has been...
Really sorry to hear that - it's unacceptable :(
On another note, as nice an offering as the trial complimentary Saturday breakfasts are, having thought about it, I wonder if this offer has something to do with trying to temp passengers back to travelling at weekends after recently...
In hindsight I might have been confused. I remember now when I boarded the train wanted to face the direction of travel - sitting at a 1+1 seat and changing to the other seat when the train was moving so it is possible I misread the direction.
I didn't notice, to be honest. I think about 5 people including myself boarded coach J but I didn't notice the other coaches. I think I was more interested in standing in the correct place on the platform.

To be honest, I've only ever had about...
Sorry about that, Pumbaa :-) Yeah, I did take a while to work things out - it wouldn't have been possible without the excellent advice from other forum members, including yourself - especially considering that my knowledge of London before yesterday was limited to BBC News !! I think some of...
That's what I was wondering. I'd just left my Pendolino at New Street and wanted to take a picture before he left. Would I have to report to reception first? I just discreetly took a couple of photos anyway making sure my flash was disabled and making sure I didn't get in anyone's way or...
Really pleased that you enjoyed my post, voyagerdude :D
My post was rushed a little bit - I tend to write things like this with lots of detail "on the fly" before I forget the details. I would have posted last night whilst everything was fresh in my memory but my PC was playing up badly -...
Hi all,
I travelled on a Virgin Train from Nuneaton to London Euston yesterday.
I was standing on Platform 4 convinced we would leave to the station to the left - thinking that the train was coming down the WCML northbound which is Atherstone from the right and heading WCML southbound to...
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the great advice - I've posted the details of my day in London on the other forum if anyone would like to read it.

Kindest regards,
Steve.

Hi all,
I just though I would post how I got on yesterday on my first ever visit to London including my first long Pendolino trip and first time on London Underground.
I apologise if my writing isn't the best in places - it's very note-like - please stay with me if you can.
0859 Virgin...
Hi all,
I have a quick question about the train shop on Pendolinos.
I have a VT leaflet here which describes the train shop as "self service" - does this mean there is a special system for paying like self service checkouts in supermarkets or is there a member of the train crew in there...
