    Lothian Buses and ECB Discussion

As the driver has been charged the case is now sub judice and shouldn't be discussed on a public forum.

    West Lothian buses

LCB are clearly now adopting a more "roofless" attitude in West Lothian! :D Sorry....

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

I think you should read through the thread properly. My last post replied specifically to the scenario suggested by TheGrandWazoo about the level of business First would require to do to take some of Lothian's existing business. The link I provided highlights the sheer volume of business in...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

You may be interested in this article from The Scotsman. <<https://www.scotsman.com/heritage/edinburgh-named-one-of-the-world-s-most-serious-overtourism-hotspots-1-4958194>> The number of overnight stays now sits at 4.26 million per annum an increase of a third over the last 7 years. Day trips...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

But for the reasons I outlined it's not going to make a blind bit difference to the outcome in West Lothian. All that will matter to Lothian is that the number of tours actually sold will have increased significantly. If some visitors choose to spend their £10 on a Bright Tour, a trip to the...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

Tourism in Edinburgh is absolutely booming at the moment. New hotels popping up all over the place and more and more cruise ships arriving. It's a rapidly expanding market. Lothian may lose a small market share to First, but I would find it impossible to believe that they will not sell a much...

Where is this PRINCESS Street they refer to? How hard is it to check these things properly????

    West Lothian buses

My view is that these services are not aimed at current bus or train commuters, but at those who commute by car. The services are clearly meant to provide an enhanced level of comfort with a reasonable front door to office desk level of convenience. Price is not always the overriding factor...

    Stagecoach East Scotland

Living just north of Kirkcaldy on the X58/X60 routes that seems pretty good for me personally. More buses to Edinburgh and a direct service to Dundee. Also the X60 gives an option up to the retail park which I assume will be much quicker than the meandering 13.

    Stagecoach East Scotland

Drove past it in Kirkcaldy about an hour ago. Looked much smarter than the usual buses on the 7/7A.

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Rubbish. The majority of people I know in Edinburgh want the tram extension to go ahead. There are a number of ****-stirrers who regularly bombard the the Edinburgh Evening News with their anti tram agenda (possibly taxi drivers who fear for their livelihood). Meanwhile there are thousands more...

Lothian PLC going to South Queensferry

I wonder if this new company will serve other areas in addition to SQ? Big market for decent bus services in Livingston I would have thought. Especially for express services to /from Edinburgh. The First bus out to Livvy is painfully slow. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

Edinburgh Gateway (Update 11/12: Now open)

The South Gyle tram stop is around 200 yards from the bus stops at the shopping centre. It would indeed be quicker to use the new walkway from the rail station to the bus stops. It's just a pity either new or existing bus services do not seem to be planned to actually stop at Edinburgh...

Edinburgh Gateway (Update 11/12: Now open)

There are tickets which can be used on both trams and buses, but the new station does not seem to have any bus services. That seems a lost opportunity to me for travellers for example from Fife wanting to go to areas of West Edinburgh not served by the tram line. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

Edinburgh Gateway (Update 11/12: Now open)

It's a pity the new station doesn't integrate with any local bus services. It's a fair walk to the bus stops at the Gyle shopping mall. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
