Keir Starmer and the Labour Party’s stance during the pandemic.

Exactly and is not letting the virus rip the same as what Boris has denied saying, but is claimed he did, let the bodies pile up rather than lockdown. That seems to have inflamed many so I guess letting it rip would as well.

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

I tend to agree. I now see more people walking past my house wearing a mask than during lockdown. No idea if that is because there are more people around or the locals feel happier do that with visitors very slowly starting to arrive.

Advice Only for Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud

From what those being investigated by GA I am not sure they would see my example as a 120 minute DR

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

I will admit I find difficult to be around people again now. I had no problems with lock downs other than getting used to too long in bed, but then I am retired. I have never been a social person so I did not miss people during those times, in fact rather enjoyed not having "to be polite" and...

Severn Valley Railway to suspend photographic charters

Well some of those things have been happening for some time now. "Proper" shed visits are now very rare. Bluebell stopped yard access many years ago ( I heard after a woman in high heels(?) slipped over. Now longer able to access the shed at Loughborough unless on a tour for some time now. I am...

Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud - Discussion of wider issues/rights/wrongs/etc

I fully understand your Contract Law point, but even at the moment we seem to only apply these to certain types of transport when it suits a political need or mantra (DR, EU 261). So next to no bus operators offer some sort of refund, I believe (happy to be corrected) National Express do not...

Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud - Discussion of wider issues/rights/wrongs/etc

I would not say I disagree with your view, but where is the "cut off"? Say you normally get the 17:30, Liverpool St in chaos so you say bugger it I will go to the cinema and get a train about 23:00. Is that still an intent to travel? You have had to change your plans totally. I do not know I...

Advice Only for Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud

Are you are saying you did not get the 16.30 because it was cancelled? The GA Passenger Charter says if your train is cancelled and you choose not to travel we will give you a refund. It is quiet (of course) as to if this also applies to a season ticket. If you then travel on a later service of...

Why is Marlow a nightmare to electrify?

I fail to see the business case that would justify the spend on infrastructure. If the government do not want to even pay to electrify mainlines then branches just will not happen.

Severn Valley Railway to suspend photographic charters

I asked that on a different forum and a well know organiser said it would be of no interest to the participants.

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

I understood the idea was that it may show you had Covid with no symptoms. This would then make you isolate and not spread it to others. Not sure I want to shove something down my throat twice a week from choice, not too worried about the nasal part though.

Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud - Discussion of wider issues/rights/wrongs/etc

Yes my dad had this issue Devon & Cornwall Police. Letter saying were you the driver, which he confirmed. Then a letter we will be prosecuting you for driving without due care and attention, failing to stop and failure to report an accident. I said you never told me you were involved in an...

Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud - Discussion of wider issues/rights/wrongs/etc

Well the Posts Office were still prosecuting sub postmasters long after they were fully aware of the errors in their computer system, (and that meant jail time for some) so I would not hold out much hope of anything once you have paid up to "make it all go away"

Advice Only for Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud

I am no expert but I would agree if you choose to not take the next possible service then you have chosen to forgo a claim. Of course if GA do have such good genuine data I wonder why they have not written to those who have claims or no claims below their average. Or at least write to them to...

Severn Valley Railway to suspend photographic charters

I hope you actually mean looking through the window, as you are no longer allowed your head out of the window on a mainline trip.

Advice Only for Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud

I am not expert on TOC's but I think you need to except that GA are in a no loose situation here. Like many big companies against an individual. Yes it can be argued they have done very poor, or no due diligence on claims they have paid out and are now trying to rectify this. Maybe an internal...

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

I thought company surveys of staff were showing that WFH is the way people want to go 2 or 3 days a week, for those that are able to of course. I think it was HSBC who reported only 2% of their call centre staff wanted to go back to the office 5 days a week. I used to be able to WFH but chose...

Well as "government shielding" has finished so unless still on furlough for a different reason then he is effectively "someone off sick" and will be dealt with by your companies HR policy for sickness absence surely?

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

I too do not have a smartphone, have no intention of getting one unless it becomes the only medium to show a vaccine passport, but see nothing wrong with pub refusing entrance. After all a publican has always been able to refuse anyone entrance as long as not based on race.

How can we tempt people out of their cars and into public transport in the future?

Yes I Yes I too would go with one fare per service. Yes that may be a higher fare if we still end up with a peak, but do away with all this advance stuff. Also if you are going to get people out of cars there has to be an incentive for the extra time taken, so that is a low fare and cheap...
