Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Which I see from the BBC Lisbon reporter includes mandatory face masks outdoors (does that include the beach?) and capacity limited restaurants.

    Passenger Complaint regarding Gender

Without saying something else I am sure the individual would not like I could not possible comment!

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Who is it rumoured will be providing free or subsidised testing? I have just read BA claim to be trialling on the crew "a reliable" saliva test that gives a result in 25 seconds. Hoping for passenger roll out if it works. However it also seems to need a smartphone or a tablet to download the...

    ex-Island Line train for sale

I assume (hope) any bidder would check as it was a collection auction. But a low loader and two ferry crossings (unless staying on the IOW) will not come cheap. I suspect someone from a loco owning group on the forum may have an idea of such transport costs.

Do train companies have too much power in relation to ticketing disputes?

I do not dispute that discretion is shown, the question is surely if that is with or without company agreement. Likewise if staff are poorly trained and passengers are being wrongly accused then there should be an easy way to appeal the issue without reference to the legal system I do not know...

    ex-Island Line train for sale

eBay says This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available. So it could be either. The last thing he sold according to the system was an LNER/VTEC HST First Class Seat listed at £498.99 but sold for an undisclosed offer price.

Northern Delay Repay - free ticket discrepancy

Are these any time tickets, as most off peak returns are little more than a single or is it a free ticket anywhere on their network? Last time I travelled Wareham to Bournemouth the fare difference was 20p for an off peak return.

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

Yes but it does not mean you are entitled to one. It is still down to the individual to apply and meet the country you want to visit visa nad health requirements.

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

It is not our governments responsibility to monitor whom other countries let in or not. That is not done with visas, so why should it be done with this. Each individual has to ensure they comply with the entry requirements of any foreign country they want to visit. Which is why airlines check...

Should Every Station (& every Platform) Have a Ticket Machine?

I agree there should be a machine on each platform. My local station, Wareham, has two machines and a ticket office all on the down (Weymouth) side yet nothing on the up where most passengers are heading and which is also the side all the buses stop. Weirdly most times guards will come through...

    Will Keir Starmer last?

Why are you surprised? All around the world voters seem not care about many things that opposition parties and the media like to stoke up "as evets" For example Trump Numerous Italian Leaders Numerous French Leaders For months many on here have been giving dates when Boris wili resign because...

Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud - Discussion of wider issues/rights/wrongs/etc

I would tend to agree it is probably pointless pursuing it if GA do withdraw. It maybe I suppose that the individual and his legal team feel that GA are "kite flying" and just hoping to get people to cough up through fear. To then withdraw when challenged costs them little, and despite others...

I assume not France as it was reported on the lunchtime news that France is not allowing people from the UK to attend the D Day event on June 6.

Greater Anglia - Delay Repay Fraud - Discussion of wider issues/rights/wrongs/etc

Whilst I sort of agree where you are coming from, all the above could be "created" by using RTT and choosing a cancelled train and a subsequent one that was some time after that.

Covid restrictions abroad: updates & observations

I can only assume you have not travelled internationally much. Airlines will operate where there is a market, not based on a countries medical needs. Plus even on British Airlines other nationalites of course use those services. As many other have said entry requirements are decided by the...

Companies Using "Because of COVID" As An Excuse For Poor Service

Who have recently (last 2 weeks) removed tray liner option (and bags I believe) to reduce single use plastic, and want you to do the same at the door. Although Tesco will still carry into the house if you want them to as long as you are not self isolating. Of course this all makes deliveries...

Have electric vehicles been "oversold" to the detriment of public transport, walking and cycling?

I do not believe when electric cars reach a critical mass you will be making a fuel saving as any government (other than perhaps those in the middle east) will have to look at a way of recouping the lost fuel duty, which to me means taxing the electricity for electric vehicles.

Noel Clarke alleged to be a sexual predator by 20 women

The drama industry certainly seems to have taken the guilty view. However although I am not watching Viewpoint I do feel that the public are being treated like children these days. Even the wording about it being on the Hub smacks of "we really think you really should not be watching this but if...
