Have not found anything out apart from they are holding the psychometric tests later this month near Gatwick. I'm presuming it will all be comeptence questions but good luck to all with the telephone interview.
I received this reply from First Great Western yesterday:
"We can confirm that you have passed the first part of the Stage 2 assessment for the trainee train driver role. We are planning assessments over the coming months and will invite you to complete the assessment, however at the moment...
Hi all,
I just wanted to ask if any of the forum users have previously taken the telephone interview with FCC and what it entails? Although, I can only surmise it will probably be some sort of competence based interview but thought I would see if any others have taken this interview and can...
My driver/line manager interview with Southern was not what I was expecting and was far more competency based. But if you prepare by knowing all the usual stuff about the company/history/future/who is who and practice some competency based questions then you will be fine. I guess it is down to...
If you are successful in passing the initial sift you will get an email with a practice pack explaining what to expect and practice papers based on similar (but not exact) tests that will be carried out on the day. There are usually ten to twenty applicants in the tests and after each test those...
Aplogies if already posted but Southern are advertising for Trainee Drivers at their Brighton depot. However, they do like to enforce a 30 minute commute policy but nothing ventured nothing gained if you live further away.
You should be OK to apply for the trainee train driver position as the six month ban is only for the Platform Assistant position. If in doubt give Southern HR a call (number on their website).
When I applied last year for a similar position at the Selhurst depot, I was told that because I don't live within 30mins of the depot they wouldn't let me apply to that particular depot (I live in Islington). However, don't let that stop you applying as you could get lucky if you live further...
Does the driver manager interview have to be conducted by a driver manager or can it (like in my interview) be carried out by another type of manager such as a conductor manager? Also, my interview was completely competency based from start to finish and not an informal chat (as I had been led...
I had the managers interview with a conductor manager and a member of the admin team. I have asked for feedback two or three times but Southern are being a little evasive and have so far not given me any feedback even though the interview was mid January.
Could anyone enlighten as to where I stand me with regards to my unsuccessful trainee train driver managers interview with Southern. As I understand, after passing your GB, reaction and paper based test you normally then have a CB interview? Then, is successful you then attend a managers...
Anyway, let me know how you go on as I'm very interested in keeping up to date with things and could you let me know when you hear if they are planning a mass train driver recruitment in the near future. As I mentioned at the start I'm really pleased you got the job and I look forward to that...
I'm not sure where this leaves me as this was my second attempt but as it was the managers interview I'm led to believe that this particular interview is not part of the process but so far my communications with Southern have been very confusing and their approach a little flakey.
I have...
Hi Sue,
that is brilliant news and I'm so pleased for you and I'm sure you will have a brilliant time and make a great train driver and if I see a female driver when travelling on Southern I shall ask if it is you!!!
Alas, Southern still have not given me reasons as to why I failed. As I...
