While the cancellation will never be perfect, I don't see how noise-cancellation can work in any other way than actually destructively interfering with the noise, which will reduce the noise level experienced by the ear.
I don't quite understand how ever increasing renewable electricity generation somehow makes the decision to stop investment in electric trains less sad.
So, you:
1. Took picture of the sign telling you to visit https://northernrailway.co.uk/comments to report a problem with the train.
2. Took a picture of a problem with the train.
3. Went online to a forum and uploaded the pictures and moaned about the problem.

I hadn't actually realised how *cheap* out-of-bundle 0845 was in the specific case of BT landlines (a combination of regulation by Ofcom and historical accident), but for the vast majority this is a positive change...
