New Cross Gate & Oyster Railcard adding

I appreciate that, but Joe Public is not going to know what a "London Overground" station is which is the terminology they use. Joe Public will read the information that says you can get this done at "any London Overground station", and say to himself "London Overground trains stop there, so...

New Cross Gate & Oyster Railcard adding

NathanPrior, I had exactly the same problem that you initially reported at Peckham Rye. While it's not branded as an Overground station saying that you can get the railcard added at "any LO station" makes life difficult for everyone. It's not at all clear and I ended up having to wander down...

Southern Trainee Drivers - Victoria & London Bridge

I keep getting a message that says "the opportunity has expired" when getting through the initial questions, anybody else getting this? Then when I go to my applications it's there as incomplete but I can't edit anything. How odd! edit: all fixed, good luck to all who apply :)

Celebs you've seen on the train

I spotted former Conservative leader Michael Howard on an East Coast service from King's Cross last week, he alighted at York I think.

Euston - Crewe with rail vouchers

I have another question - I claim back expenses at work and have a zone 3-5 travelcard on my Oyster. one of my bases is at Denmark Hill in Zone 2, what is the best ticket to buy to get there? Just a Zone 2 extension permit? I need something that I can send off to work to reclaim so PAYG...

Euston - Crewe with rail vouchers

I did NOT know this!! I know the booking office at Sutton doesn't have Oyster readers at the booths so will try East Croydon. Potentially if I had £50 vouchers, could I spent say £40 on tickets and then add the remaining £10 to my oyster balance?

Euston - Crewe with rail vouchers

My local station is Sutton Common which doesn't have a booking office, Sutton does which is a 10 minute walk however they often only have one person on. How far in Advance do I need to book to get these tickets?

Euston - Crewe with rail vouchers

I suppose on East Coast there are more online offers than Virgin. So I'd just need to find the appropriate Advance single from the "Fare Finder" on Virgin's website and just go to the booking office with the vouchers? I live in Sutton, presuming I can phone Virgin Customer Services to get seat...

Euston - Crewe with rail vouchers

Hi all I was the lucky recipient of £120 of vouchers due to Virgin Trains' uselessness (sorry, I'm still bitter about it). I'm aware that I can't use them online which is a travesty in this day and age considering the amount of cheap fares that are online only, so I am looking to use these...

    Complicated Journey!

just one more thing chaps - i'm aware that coming back from Crewe I need to get a train that stops at MKC (as I will have a ticket from CRE - MKC then MKC - EUS). as there are very few direct trains is there a problem with me getting a VT to Wolverhampton/Birmingham and then getting a train...

    Complicated Journey!

Hi all I've been afforded the luxury of a work trip to Milton Keynes next week Friday, however while in the general direction of "up north" I want to make a trip to see family in Crewe. I already have an anytime return First Class ticket on VT from Euston to Milton Keynes (£48) however I'm...

hi gkr i do have an oyster card but i won't be returning to sutton in the evening. i was going to give it to my partner so she could get to work but i think it's easiest to just do boundary zone 6 anytime return to guildford as it has an annual season ticket on it. how do i specify boundary...
