Had problems taking pictures of the railways?

I don't understand how people can quote the Network Rail guidelines on photography at stations, then conveniently forget about the bit asking photographers to announce their presence to staff, and/or sign in...

    Air Southwest to Close

I'd be surpised if they actually continue operating until September - they've already returned two aircraft to the lessor (G-WOWC/D), and of the remaining three, G-WOWE is on sub-lease to Aurigny Air, leaving just G-WOWA/B in service.

Day Travelcard printed as 'Season-One Day'

You would need to speak to the vendor, in this case Southern. You may need to apply for a refund on the dud ticket and purchase a new one from a ticket office to use in the meantime.

    St Pancras to Ashford International

Can't imagine they 'wouldn't dare'. More likely they wouldn't think a bloke in a forum important enough for a debate... Regarding tickets, yes they can be confusing at times, which is why booking office closures must be fought - ticket office staff are always best placed to offer advice and...

Using advance ticket after booked departure time

The 'official ruling' is in the terms and conditions, available here, or in a handy card format from your local station. Thusly: Therefore, no, the Guard/TM/Conductor/etc has NO discretion to allow travel at other than the booked time, although of course some may opt for the easy life...

    National RMT Signaller's Strike

Tell you what - Just to keep AlexS happy, we'll all drop out of the RMT, and join TSSA - and let ourselves be walked all over whilst in a union that can't stand up for itself. Railstaff will lose out, but it's okay cos the kids can go on holiday again, and you lot can still go trainspotting...

    Network Rail Enthusiast Guidelines

How many times has this subject got to come up and degenerate into an argument? I always ask permission at mainline stations. It is simple common courtousy. Why be arseholes over it?

    Ticket Query

You can buy any UK rail ticket (and Irish ticket) at any UK railway station. However, you may not get voucher packs / leaflets etc that come with some rovers (Freedom of Wales springs to mind)

    National RMT Signaller's Strike

All of you who are siding against the signallers would do well to remember that without trade unions we'd still be working in sweat shops for £2 a week... As I've said before wait til you leave school/college and see what the real world is like. I'll give you a hint - it's sh*t.
