I remember going on a RR 153 back in the late 90's as a 4 year old it was going to Carlisle if i remember or Metrocentre one of the two it would then return to Morpeth afterwards
I think it could work but I cant see Class 357's leaving c2c and coming up North even if they were offered the 379. I would like that to happen for obvious reasons.:lol:
I think Pendolinos would be a good the 225's are falling in reliability and the HST's are now beyond there design life being 30+years old and the 225's hitting 23 years old.
I think they should be used on the 0823 because that train is always packed to the rafters and with 156's going elsewhere the route needs to have longer trains especially on that service.
Sometimes there are 185's at least two in Newcastle with one being prepped for service and also Northern leaves xx15 past the hour similar to when the 185's leave for Manchester Airport and they leave Morpeth xx50 (Northern)
The only other train they could couple with was the 456 which is of similar design to a 321 because the 456's have jumpers and the same coupling system i think
