    Odd trains at Birmingham New St (BHM)

    Quite a few freights use BHM out of PAX hours. For instance the Colas steels from WWH to Boston runs via BHM on its outward journey. I know of a few liners that also use BHM. I recall seeing pairs of 37's on steels and oil trains as a kid.

    General loco care

    I tend to use thinners on a rag, cotton buds, and sometimes a track rubber. I have heard of the use of toothpaste on Lima pancakes and Hornby Ringfield motors. I always lightly oil locos after a long tome out of use.
