Frost damage work was done at start of year. Whole platform being renewed big job. There is a bigger gap as well. It's clearly visible. I don't think it's imminent but it's something to consider.
May be completely not linked but Helensburgh Upper is getting its platforms redone and track readjusted and the contractor doing it says its due to a "new train" coming on the tracks. Are ScotRail looking at moving the 158s onto the WHL?

Yes it is, for the Fort William portion the seated sleeper starts/terminates there. Berth passenger it's not but seated it is.

The seated sleeper is now getting its seat covers replaced with new spotty blue ones, and the moveable chairs in the lounge car are also now in the spotty blue colour. looks fresher...
You wont get anything between Dundee and Edinburgh remember. From Edinburgh you may get first class host, may not. Last time I was with XC on HST 1st class the microwave was broke so only free tea/coffee/water and biscuits/crisps. Hot food is okay, not alot of it though. You're also not allowed...
the 625 was a 5 car today and the one which starts at bath spa was also 5 car today. both heading for glasgow and very busy! surprised me, 1st class was even full!
