Anyone know what the duty content of LNER Newcastle is like? I don’t mean routes signed off. I mean like actual content of the duty. Like do you take a train to Edinburgh, have a break, then back to Newcastle etc. Just curious!

Just a curiosity question after travelling a few times over the last few weeks. What’s the usual duty content of drivers at Newcastle? I’m assuming drivers are signed off up to Edinburgh and down to kings cross?

Whether it helps or not in the future would be decided by whether or not the bidirectional signalling is kept, and I cannot remember from the plans whether that is the case.

Completely agree. Offensive to both Metro drivers and Metrolink drivers, whose jobs offer a different kind of challenge to those at LNER, or TPE.
