Hi all,
I've just randomly noticed on Trust that Voyager 220001 appears to have an anomaly in it's formation at the moment:
60301
60727
60201
60401
What's happened with 60701 vehicle? Am I right to assume 60727 is from 22027- is 027 also out of service or is this also using vehicles from...
I've been on the Railway for over a decade in a Ticket Office role and soon after I joined I started applying for Conductor jobs at several different TOCs to no avail.
I've also tried to get a similar job to what I do in a different part of the UK, as I'm looking to relocate. Still not got...
Sounds good!
No Railcard discounts as far as I'm aware- I've just tried Leeds to Newton Abbot with Disabled Railcard and it still only offered £50.
Edit: I've just realised the Weekday rate simply seems to be twice the cost of the Weekend upgrade cost. Not sure if that's the case on all journeys.
Yes you're right. Although naturally I suspect most, if not all of these upgrades would undercut the cost of the alternative First Off Peak/First Anytime ticket, with the upgrade onboard option being much cheaper.
e.g. Manchester Picc to Bristol Temple Meads Standard Class Off Peak Return=...
Thank you.
I wonder whether this is a way of giving Train Managers a potential way of trying to sell spare First Class seats on the day when Standard is unsurprisingly rammed.
Also I question whether Cross Country officially forbid Advance Standard Class ticket holders from buying these...
I recently travelled First Class on TPE from Manchester Picc to Preston (as part of a much longer journey) and noticed how little the Catering Staff did. [Both members of Catering Staff stood chatting in the little Kitchen area behind the Driver's Cab for most of the journey from Manchester to...
Hi all,
Whilst looking on Journey Planner for a Cross Country journey, I noticed a new ticket type which I've not come across before-
XCW- "Weekday First Class upgrade."
e.g. Aberdeen to Plymouth= £60
Manchester to Bournemouth= £40.
Does anyone know if there are any time restrictions...
I think it's ridiculous that some TOCs e.g. EMR seem to take the biscuit with First Class catering, considering how little they could spend and still offer customers what most customers would perceive to be a much more satisfactory offer.
I guess if all of EMR's current First Class food is...
 Ah, that's a shame!
I was once on a Northern train several years ago when the test announcement sequence was triggered.
It played the song "Sweet" by Bensound:
There are several alterations already showing on Avanti's Journey Check website for tomorrow.
One of which is tomorrow evening's 21:10 London Euston to Preston, which is the last train of the day from London to Preston (ignoring Sleeper services).
I'm guessing most stops could be covered by...
Well that was very quickly sorted out.
The LNER website now appears to be offering a full range of tickets on the Lumo West Coast trains.
Thank you for your replies.
Hi all,
I've just noticed that I'm struggling to find Lumo Only fares for tomorrow's 06:41 Preston to London Euston/16:36 return from London Euston to Preston on the LNER website.
(Yes I'm sure I could on Lumo's on website/other websites etc.)
They're correctly being offered on The Trainline...
I strongly agree with you.
In terms of 220/221 First Class seats, I personally think in terms of comfort:
1) ex Avanti leather(?) blue seats.
2) Original Cross Country seats (but unsurprisingly/understandably most are rather worn and tatty.)
3) Recently refurbished Cross Country Voyager seats.
Thanks for that.
Hopefully the Lumo 222s aren't beginning to mirror their EMR sisters by having engine issues.
Back on topic.. I wonder what it is causing the EMR 222s to have so many engine issues (amongst other faults).
Am I right to be under the impression that XC 220/221s don't seem to...
I'm surprised if running on 5/6 engines is causing it to lose much time, because I'm under the impression 1 engine out (on the admittedly shorter in length) 220/221 fleet doesn't have much affect at all on their running times and most Lumo trains have alot of slack in their paths.
