My primary requirement is a reserved seat, an Advance ticket would be a bonus if it provided meaningful saving. I’m only getting concerned having seen the one train showing only 2 seats available. Done the trip many times before without a problem.

Thanks for the responses. Would Avanti have released availability on one train but none of the others on the day ? I can book on the 07:39 train from Rayleigh as a single (it’s too early anyway) Only 2 seats said to be available. Nothing on the later trains.
