The facebook one really is a small job, whoever runs the social media just changed the logo and didn't alter the text in their bio.
Just looked at the source code on the konectbus site and the "Part of Go Ahead" logo is just an embedded image on the bar so wouldn't be a hard swap but yes...
2 weeks on and the Go Ahead logo is still on the website at the top although the bottom has been updated. On FB they've removed the logo but the text still says "Konectbus is part of Go East Anglia, the Go Ahead Group". No announcement on social media or website.
I know a new website isn't...
I'm quite surprised there's nothing on the website or social media about this and Go Ahead is still all over both.
I wasn't expecting a redesign on 1st October but thought they'd want to make more of a deal over it and Go Ahead would want their name off it all?
Living on a Konect (ex Anglian)...
It's even more ridiculous to have 1st on some services and not on others, but that's what we're stuck with.
I sitll love the trains I just wish there were a few more of each subclass.
I don't want this to drift off into the fantasy sub forum (sorry mods) but 4 car Flirts.
They revolutionised GA travel. This line has so much potential, I used to sue it a lot when younger and know many people who do now preferring it to going via London but sometimes have to do the latter due...
If true it's because people know it's an inadequate service. Plenty of people here in Norwich would rather go direct than via London - price and guarantee of a seat permitting.
I haven't used it for awhile now but there always was a healthy loading from Norwich. A lot of people here value the direct route, they might go via London if the advances are a lot cheaper. If there was more capacity on the direct they could have more advances?
We're talking quite a while back now but one summer (2015 give or take a couple of years, would have been August) I was on a 6 car 158 from Manchester to Norwich. I assumed we'd drop some of them off at Nottingham but no.
This was when both engineering works and strike action were ongoing and...
I thought they did get rid of first class?
I've seen some posts suggesting that internal shots aren't allowed to be shared yet so maybe a press release is coming out.
This still also doesnt solve the problem of when a 2 car comes along for a packed service although I'm not sure what could.
745/755 refurbishment has to be 10 years down the line minimum, they need to figure out what their fix is before then. They still look really good and offer an excellent ride.
I'm not averse to the buffet coming out and really if the demand for 1st just isn't there post covid that coming out too.
I disagree, whenever I travel now there's either an announcement apologising for lack of first class and buffet (and it's common to hear people asking the guard how to get the refund) or that they're pleased to inform us there is first class and a buffet on this service. I maintain the product...
They could replace the triple set with a 745/1 now but from other posts on here they struggled with having enough. The triple set is just a fudge, it cant go on like that forever.
Really the 745/1 issue needs sorting too - GA's intercity offering is completely devalued as first class and the...
Still holding out hope for Norwich - Cambridge - Stansted going half hourly and the few missing services that don't do the full journey to manage it somehow.
I've done the route as a passenger for years and every time it gets busier, so glad the days of having to change at Ely onto a 2 car XC...
What was the original plan for keeping the /3's and /4's separate? I know the consensus is the bid team got it all very wrong but there must have been some plan to keep the /3's to the regional lines and the /4's on the busier services rather than just a common pool with the /3's on the few...
Is the complete timetable recast well and truly dead? Maybe after the general election, would be good to see what's possible with all our shiny new trains and a very different world to what it was.
They wouldn't be needed if the /1s were just on airport runs, but at the moment it's anything goes. It still doesnt solve their 1st class and buffet problem, or the 3x755 diagram(s).
They are great trains though, very comfortable and 100x better than the life expired junk they replaced.
The mk3's second class seats were horrendous. My back ached after 2 hours. The ones on the 745 and 755 are vastly more comfortable.
I also find the carriages superior in every way. Light, bright, airy, warm, comfortable. I haven't found the intermediate doors to detracted from the experience at...
