It will be interesting to see if the "penny-pinching" extends to the granting (or not) of free annual season tickets for ex DfT staff who have to move to Derby for work but do not wish to move house. I can see plenty of " we like the Surrey countryside / our children are established at good...
Probably the best post I have seen on this subject over 6 pages. These things happen and there are no easy solutions. I was not involved but those whose lives were disrupted deserve that a proper enquiry be undertaken into the circumstances and that the issue is not kicked into the long grass...
I think it is worth pointing out that Oxford particularly and Cambridge have been the source of graduates many of whom moved into politics and the civil service at permanent secretary level and who are largely responsible for the poor transport infrastructure in this country.(What did happen to...
When Ken worked for the BBC during Covid he used to broadcast from home. You would have thought Greatest Hits would provide him with some I/T to do the same thing. I don't suppose he enjoys the delights of Haddenham & Thame Parkway's car park either.
If fellow posters had made there own enquiries they would have discovered that the issue is not about the new drainage structure which the local Wendover community have accepted but it is all about the vast number of lorries passing through the town to complete the works which frankly HS2 do not...
Perhaps because for those in a wheelchair it would be difficult or impossible to get into a photobooth at the station or in a supermarket ? For selfies taken at home it may be difficult to comply with the numerous rules and regs. Looks as if common sense has prevailed to help our disabled...
Chiltern are not running any services on the Aylesbury Vale Parkway to Marylebone line this weekend so I assume that will leave a few 165 units for the "frequent high capacity trains" they are proposing .In past times such matches would have been held at 3.00 pm on a Saturday still we have to...
Has any research been done as to where the biggest traffic flows are coming from which causes the problem.? ie is it passengers enroute from Heathrow to Paddington or passengers coming from the east who for whatever reason alight from the Elizabeth line at Paddington to transfer to HEX for a...
Can any experts on this forum advise on whether there will still be a need for trip cocks on rolling stock using the LUL line to Amersham / Chesham when the new signalling is in place ? I ask because of an issue raised upon another forum as to whether it would be feasible to run diverted WCM...
This is a difficult one. I suspect the reason that Aylesbury > MKC was not included in the final E-W plans was due to doubts about the revenue stream.
Yet Aylesbury itself needs this link due to the thousands (and I mean thousands) of new homes being built both north and south of the town yet...
Do we know how short term this may be ? Lots of "blowing their own trumpet" from Chitern but is there anything in the Govt announcement about how long this will last ? I assume that when Chiltern's service contract, call it what you will, expires in 2027 then as the service returns to public...
