Can any experts on this forum advise on whether there will still be a need for trip cocks on rolling stock using the LUL line to Amersham / Chesham when the new signalling is in place ? I ask because of an issue raised upon another forum as to whether it would be feasible to run diverted WCM rolling stock along the MKC- Aylesbury-Marylebone in the future ( should the MKC-Aylesbury link ever be completed of course). Thanks

Yes, tripcocks will still be required on non-CBTC fitted trains, Chiltern etc.
Trainstops will be provided at inter-running signals.

Even putting the tripcock issue aside, it’s highly unlikely that any stock other than something with a 168/Mark 3-ish profile would be cleared over the route. There also aren’t the paths for any additional meaningful issue.

Trip fitting vehicles is to be honest the most trivial of the issues at hand.

If something is cleared for 168 and Mk3 (also 165 which is wider) then in practice pretty much any passenger stock will be clear with little or no further infrastructure work. But I guess it's more likely any such working would go to Paddington via Oxford rather than trying to get into Marylebone.
