Had a little look at what's been going on around Wymington today.
The slow line reopened last week - freight is using the line as normal.
Concrete base for the sub-station has been laid.
At least one pile placed on the slow line.
Very little other activity going on.

Went for a little walk to the south of Wymington this morning.
No further track seems to have been installed on the slow lines but it looks like the space is being used for road vehicle access down to the tunnel.
In the first picture you can see the work going on at the Souldrop/Wymington...
The planning document is what is under-construction now at Wymington along with the reinstatement of the fourth line. Yes, it also shows substations further up the line which presumably won't be built since electrification is stopping at Kettering/Corby.
Went for a little wander today to have a look at the ongoing work in Wymington.
No masts appear to have been erected on either the fast or slow lines in the area.

Driving on the A6 Clapham bypass (between Bedford and Sharnbrook) this afternoon I noticed first pile base on the quad line section adjacent to the road.
Machinery working on the slow line this afternoon in Wymington. Been a fair bit of activity recently too.

Last few nights we have seen works going on at the slow line in Wymington. Went for a wander this morning....
Looks like the 4th track work is well underway - track appears to be laid and also retaining walls are being installed.
Also some of the preparation works for pilling has started. There...
It's bad enough being only 2 miles away although the worst part is the boy racers on their way to/from Santa Pod events.
Also Santa Pod has 3 wind turbines and many solar panels near it now too so that may well complicate matters.

Long term plans for a garden village on the northern outskirts of Sharnbrook including a station.
Bedford station already needs a multistorey car park... The present ones are regularly full by 8am and remain so unti mid afternoon.
Or better still, a parkway station built between Bedford and Wellingborough (such as the suggested Rushden Parkway at Irchester)
Interesting, thanks for this. There's a lot of vegetation and tree clearance work going on between Wymington and Souldrop this week. Will keep an eye out to see when the piles come head further up the line.
Went for a little walk today to have a look at the electrification works going on at Wymington on the Beds/Northants border.
First image is looking south on the single slow line at Wymington where you can see some of the quadruple upgrade works have been going on.
