I agree it's not RTT's fault and without RTT the rail travelling world would be a much worse place and I note Tom's comment re the 159s. I was just saying that, as regular travelers we know 159 aircon will likely be broken most of summer (although work fine most of winter!) and so irregular...
It also shows all 159's as having aircon which sadly the majority don't have working air-con currently, similarly for GWR 158's and so its a bit misleading.
The West of England off peak has up to 10 minutes slack between Basingstoke and Tisbury westbound and so my biggest frustration is that they won't hold a train curtailed to start at Basingstoke for 5 minutes during disruption to wait for the incoming train running late from London. Really...
Basingstoke is the logical place to terminate the West of England short, but then they need to stop the fast Winchester-Woking trains extra there to pick up the stranded passengers going into London. This almost never happens (except sometimes when the 0510 from Exeter is curtailed there)...
In my experience Woking gateline will either be unmanned and open or closed with pretty useless gateline staff who generally challenge everything and have zero ticket knowledge. Given Woking has a premium atteched to most fares due to Heathrow, they are very hot on stopping short so I wouldnt...
Agreed. My last trip the auto announcements were off and the guard just announced the station and my coach was out at both with no warning and so people had to run through.
GWR regularly don't make announcements about short platforms at Castle Cary and Pewsey, although they are pretty good in Cornwall. SWR were awful about forgetting the short platforms at Whimple and Feniton until you arrive (Tisbury they are much better on, helped westbound by the wait in the...
Yes and also passenger disappointment when, instead of an open top ride, you enx up standing like sardines downstairs for an hour.
Sinhle deck on Ilfracombe bit is about right load wise, particularly with reduced frequency deterring use.
Basiclly the service is being slowly killed which is a...
If you arrived into Guildford at 1701, why didn't get the 1715 to Reading which didn't leave until 1720. That got in at 1804 which would have made the 1832 to Basingstoke arriving at 1900. Still over 2 hours late but 43 mins earlier.
With the benefit of hindsight, if you'd instead got on the...
My railcard number is 15 digits, there is next to no chance of being able to type that in on a machine without either making an error or the machine having one of those numbers that doesn't press correctly. It would also mean each transaction will take much longer and so we'll need more...
Can anyone confirm if the below list of inter-available season ticket stations is still correct or have they been removed?
