There's a path that runs beside the railway from Shildon all the way to Newton Aycliffe so anywhere along there would be good. There is a bridge from that path that goes behind the Locomotion museum so that would be a good place too.
Sorry if this has already been answered but a while back there was a farewell tour for the old Metrocars on the cards advertised by the Branch Line Society. Does anyone know if a trip like this will happen?

Looks like 222603 is getting its first run in service today. According to Real Time Trains it's been allocated a path from Wembley then to 1S03 1636 to Stirling.
There's a path from Central Rivers tomorrow (Monday 1st June) to Carlisle where 222601 should pick up the service path to Euston (1M01).

Yes it moved from Central Rivers to Polmadie either Friday or Saturday and did a run from Polmadie to Stirling to Euston and return on Sunday and I think today aswell.
Can anyone find out what class 222 was on this working from Central Rivers to Widnes today, headcode 5Q36?

With some changes in paths today saw 222601 on its first mainline run post-Lumo refurbishment working a VST path 5Z20 from Widnes to Central Rivers, with an EMR liveried 222 going to Widnes beforehand on 5Q36, don't know the unit number though (EDIT: it was 222004)...
There's paths for moves between Widnes and Barton Under Needwood (Central Rivers?) on Friday 1st May so would this be 222601's first journey after refurbishment and renumbering, with presumably another 222 going off for refurbishment...
The trackwork and signalling changes for the new platforms have all been carried out, however the platform 5 loop is out of use for passenger trains (including empty coaching stock) unless there's major disruption.
