Are Yorkshire planning to withdraw or move into reserve some of their Enviro 400 Hybrids, like other regions have been lately? Otherwise one would assume the remaining 56/07 plate E400s would be most vulnerable to replacement.
No official sources at this stage but a few are rumoured to be transferring to Cumbria, and an unknown quantity to East Midlands, presumably to see off more Tridents.
Without trying to veer off topic here, have you any idea what plans Lichfield City Coaches and Buslink have for all of these buses, competition with Diamond for tenders, new commercial routes? I had noticed all of these ex Rotala ones on the monthly fleet changes so makes sense now knowing where...
Well not exactly, as @J-2739 stated the Yorkshire X17 is still going strong as an actively marketed Gold service. Vehicle 11125 was recently repainted back into Gold after losing its Queens Jubilee livery. Since the route was extended to Wirksworth, new publicity being posted on Social Media and...
Stagecoach certainly do have them though I’m not sure how many or how often they can be typically seen - in the last few years I’ve only encountered their inspectors once on the outskirts of Barnsley.
Here in Birmingham the inspectors are quite a frequent sight as you’ve said, albeit they cover...
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of Chaserider getting some Evoras. They should be for the newly won West Midlands tendered services 35A and 36 in Walsall, currently using older MCV Evolution B8RLEs. It begs the question as to whether those will return to Grantham or be used to partly...
I recall there was a swap round of buses at West at the end of March when they took over the Bristol Park & Ride services. Swindon duly gained 18420-422 and Stroud 18087/18156, with various Scania E400s and E400MMCs being shuffled about in the process. The final few Tridents at Bristol being...
Making use of the recent changes section on bustimes.org, it seems 37626 was the last bus actually repainted, over 6 months ago as per https://bustimes.org/vehicles/history?vehicle__operator=FCWL&page=2 .A shame to see that standards are slipping now under new management!
That’s correct they don’t have USB charging. The first few batches of E400MMCs were to a lower specification with low-backed seating and no extras like chargers. I believe this continued up to bus 10503, after which they all had higher-backed seating with USB as standard.
Initially that was the deadline, but both Diamond and National Express have made agreements with Transport for West Midlands to allow them to keep some non-compliant buses in service a little longer. There was a final end date mentioned somewhere, perhaps someone else can fill me in.
Something I feel needs mentioning here is that Burton has no commitments (besides the A52 into Birmingham) regarding Euro 6 buses like the West Midlands fleet does. Although some of the existing fleet members inherited are non-standard to the group, all effort currently is on removing...
Something I’ve always done when hunting specific buses and making use of bustimes is to,
-Take one of the journeys said bus has already operated today
-Check for that journey yesterday on the vehicles page of the corresponding route
-Screenshot the entire list of journeys said bus operated...
Stagecoach South West have introduced a new X30 service, with funding from Devon County Council’s Bus Improvement Plan, between Seaton and Exeter via Colyton, Honiton and various Science and Technology Parks on the outskirts of Exeter.
Although only offering 3 return journeys a day, these are...
Yes it’s still valid, it has the same validity of the previous daysaver on NXWM services operating outside the West Midlands to the likes of Cannock, Lichfield, Leamington and Rugby. However you cannot use the nbus ticket on other operators buses to these destinations.
