The past weekend I travelled on First’s Jurassic Coaster X51, X52 and X53 services. These are all great examples to test a modern bus with the constant up and down hills. The Volvo B9TLs have no trouble, but many of the ADLs will struggle as I found with former Cornwall example 33464.

I suspect you’ve answered your own question there. All of these examples are newer vehicles. Birmingham Airport’s will rarely stray a mile away from the main terminal, so operating range will not be an issue either.

Indeed a few years ago it was every 30 minutes, whilst pre-covid was every 20 minutes. This year they seem to have upped the 22 service to compensate with extra buses along Torbay, although that may be a more permanent change with the hourly Dawlish runs split off as the 11 service.
