Without stating the obvious that most TOCs needed to do more tomorrow, after all this stage of the roadmap to freedom and the new normal was announced 7 weeks ago and rumoured even before then, what actual changes do take place tomorrow?
I believe the French have zones A, B and C whereby they all have the same amount of holidays per year, but at different times to avoid too much congestion on the roads.
Could such a system work here? Has Gavin not thought about this one?

Who reckons more 195s will be built following the article a few weeks ago?

Good stuff! The Midland Main Line always appeared to be such a backwater in the 90s and early-00s: look at it now! Can't wait to see electrification reach Leicester and beyond - it just gets to the Midlands at present!
Possibly Montreux from holidays in Switzerland - the few minutes each side to Lausanne and Villeneuve are among the best standard-gauge journeys anywhere.
Gare du Nord for the sheer activity pre-COVID: obviously most of this will recover as the French are a little less keen on WFH than we are...
For the clubbers/ex-clubbers among us, where were your hideouts? For me it was the following in the 2000s and early-2010s:
Millennium, C103s, Zanzibar or Destiny's/Oceana when home in Plymouth
Arena, Timepiece or Warehouse in Exeter
Norwegian Blue, Tiger Tiger or the Moon Under Water in...
I don't really know but maybe somebody with more experience could tell me. Possibly a Flirt or one such derivative? Or the new Pendolino? Answers on a postcard please...

Will any trains do sub-one hour London to Leicester after electrification?

Can't TfW do a Cross Country and double up what is running?
I wonder how much more XC could introduce while keeping long trains? Could the Reading to Newcastle, even without the Southampton extension, plus Bristol to Manchester, even without the Exeter extension, run every two hours?
We are now unbelievably in the middle of July, and I believe that any increase in fares is announced next month.
Are we going to witness an increase this summer, or will fares be frozen due to COVID-19?
In contrast to Northern, TPE have been praised by the way in which they have put many Novas back into service and doubled up 185s on most if not all of the rest. Even the late services which would barely warrant a double under normal circumstances, are longer.
Obviously not every gap has been...
Advances are back on many routes now. Avanti seem however to be going no lower than £30 Manchester to London single, only £10 or so below the Off-Peak price which is around £80-90 return. They need to go down to the £20s otherwise I use Northern/LNWR via Stoke or Crewe.
As the title suggests. Don't know if it's currently because we're seeing the grimmest death stats on Tuesdays (albeit the most realistic ones) or maybe if you like your job especially, you don't actually mind going into the office on a Monday morning and saying hello to your colleagues, most of...

Seems to have given up the ghost at Salford Crescent around 09:30 and still no reports just before 17:00! I presume it was a 331 or a pair of?
Since many commuters are getting savvy with websites such as this and various TOCs' Journey Check, would anybody know if any diesel services (since there are no 2 carriage electrics, thank God) are still booked for 2-car operation? Specifically those arriving into Manchester and Leeds between...
Hi, as the title suggests, I will be taking the 09:40 from Budapest to Prague on Tuesday 10 March and was wondering if anybody knows anywhere nice for breakfast in or around the station?
Anyone who suggests McDonalds will be fired by the Mods :D:D:D
TIA
I have seen a cheap (£12) fare on Trenitalia 580 from Firenze/Florence to Milano on Saturday 09 May. Two questions if I may:
A) is this a loco-hauled or Frecciabianca HST-like set?
B) will it be worth 10 Euro to upgrade to First for the nearly four hour journey? I don't think food is served...
As the title suggests really.
I know 07:48 Wilmslow to Liverpool Lime Street is scheduled for a 6-car 195, and a few Blackpool to Hazel Grove and Airport are scheduled for a 6-car 331, however does anybody have an updated list and how many coaches? Maybe best keeping weekdays and weekends to a...
