Good news for the KWVR: they need a larger loco in traffic and I'm sure it will draw in a few enthusiasts visiting for a bit of variety or fans of the class.

They are pretty unreliable though, so not worth bothering with if you want a nice start to your holiday without an unexpected taxi journey to Heathrow at your own expense.

Trains now running through Wakefield Westgate again

Yes, LNER not too badly affected and seemed to get buses running fairly quickly. I’ve seen at least one XC service avoid Wakefield Westgate via Oakenshaw Junction and Hare Park Junction.

Fire physically on the track I believe at Prison Sidings, chaos at Leeds this evening. I managed to get a train out to Wakefield Kirkgate, but these trains are now extremely busy.

It’s almost certain that resources could be better used, but I’d be careful about advocating for change in this area.
