    HS2 - Old Oak Common

This is sparked by a graphic in what some like to call 'Liar' but bear with me, as I think its an interesting discussion. Rails current issue (640) has a graphic of a proposed layout for an Old Oak Common interchange between GWML and HS2, positioned directly opposite the North Pole building...

    railworks add ons on railsimulator

Hiya, Nothing for RailWorks is intended to work in RailSim. RailWorks is effectively the same product but with over a years worth of more development, and counting. Any addons being sold on Steam for RailWorks will require you to have RailWorks or Steam will not let you make the purchase...

    Railworks Addon Problem?

Hiya, This is a design flaw in the user interface, which is something we plan on completely overhauling in 2010. Regards

    High Speed One

Hiya, EB have now updated their website confirming their intentions, and providing a small video of a Class 395 departing Ashford heading north. An interesting position that they are only doing the line from St Pancras to Ashford. Looking at this map of my version, that is less than a 3rd of a...

    High Speed One

Hiya, If you read my OP you will see that I state where I have made my conclusion from, and that I make no reference to anything official from Europeanbahn. As my other information should suggest, I have probably better knowledge than many on the route in question and so am able to recognise...

    High Speed One

Im sure it will be fine. When I was working on the route years ago we got hold of plans of the units before Hitachi had even cut the first alluminium to build them. I think back then it was more of an Olympic flag livery than the SouthEastern seen today. Now that the units are running, and...

    High Speed One

Looking at the competition and other images dotted around the Europeanbahn Website, it looks like they are set to release High Speed One from St Pancras at least to the Channel Tunnel. Not sure if they will cross into France or carry on through to Lille or Paris. I did a heck of alot of work...

    Class 455 for RailSim

Sorry that everything has moved once again. This time it's located with my model rail stuff at RMweb. After a break finishing aspects of SouthWestLines as well as an eventful summer I have returned to improve the 455 model...

    UKs sharpest gradient change?

Saw this pic and it got me thinking. http://www.trainpics.net/p62111415.html How fast would a train need to go to 'jump' the rails? Are there other sharp gradient changes around the UK? Cheers Adam

    Stobart Rail class 92

An example that 'one size DOESNT fit all' For me it's the yellow end with jet white window surrounds. Seems it will go the same way as the 'Barbie' scheme for First. Atleast they dropped the White element when they recognised it wasn't a good look.

If you could design your own Train Sim what would it have?

For all those wishing for Multiplayer, have a read of this page. Once again there are mass calls for multiplayer, but still no sign of any details about what it would bring to the table in terms of advancement in train simulation. Regards

    How hard can it be?

Are Class 56's even appropriate to haul passenger stock? For me (somewhat uneducated) thats like suggesting the Class 60 would be a good stop gap for a HST replacement! :) Like you say, surely the surplus 67 fleet would be far better suited to this.

    Class 450 Traction motors

As above, I read somewhere that this was actually done automatically, independant of the drivers input, due to the heat build up. Which incidentally I think I witnessed at Guildford a week or so ago. 450004 sizzling in Platform5, requiring a bit of an extinguish before it was allowed to...

    Class 450 Traction motors

Hiya, Cna anyone point me towards details about what and why the Class 444 and 450 units make the high pitched whining sound? Im looking to recreate or record these sounds and want to know what causes them to occur. Cheers
