I'm just catching up (again!) on all the trip reports. Some very nice moves there, particularly the IOW. I've done the steam railway once, back in 2005 with the wife, but sadly 05001 didn't work, so that's required.

An excellent three day move. The Bluebell is now very much on my to-do list, having been excluded during their anti diesel days. You can't accuse them of that now!

Looks like a great day at the Bluebell. Interestingly 73119 was my (joint) first 73 as well - also on a class 40 tour but somewhat later than you - 31st August 1987 "The Desert Songster", 40122 was the main tour engine, with 73117 & 73119 working from Kensington Olympia to Waterloo via Barnes...

Loved the TTTE parody, very funny. I think the Sheerness line remained open because at the time many other branches were getting chopped it had a lot of freight, to the steelworks and the docks, thus ensuring its financial viability.

Congratulations on clearing Merseyrail, no mean feat that. As always, some very enjoyable reading. I particularly noted 319382 - my last 319 required for sight and 508123 - the only Merseyrail unit that I've yet to set eyes on!
