    Rambling Roebuck... (Trip Reports)

A few good days to read about, thanks for that. The MNR is a fabulous line and good fun is always had there.

    FQ's trips around the globe

A couple of brilliant reports there, most enjoyable.

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Thanks chaps. To get a Southern Daysave you have to phone either Lewes Tourist Information Centre on 01273 483448 or Seaford TIC on 01323 897426. I used the former although Debby seemed to be the only one there that actually knew anything about the ticket. They're not standard tickets and...

Ah, well spotted, thanks :) I've corrected the Seaford/Seaforth error and changed the first 313219 to what it actually was, 313216, which was required. That's what happens when you type in a hurry before you go to bed!

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Thanks, it's true we all regret stuff we've missed. It doesn't stop me regularly kicking myself about it, though. Anyway, I've been busy today so still have lots of trip reports to read, which I'm looking forward to, but in the meantime I've managed to finish mine off, so here goes...

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Our second holiday of the year is always in the second week of April, around the date of our wedding anniversary, and this year was no exception. Last year we went to Newcastle and this time it was to the other end of the country, Portsmouth. An uneventful drive down on Saturday the 2nd...

    507021's Merseyrail days out

A most fruitful day on Merseyrail, I will get there this year, I swear it.

    Andy's Wanderings

Well, I'm just back from holiday and am starting to work my way through the trip reports, this one made an excellent start. Nice to see plenty of winners :)

    Oyster Zone Bingo!!

I'll chuck in Ickenham, surprisingly the only station on London Underground that begins with an "I". All the other vowels have a few but poor "I" only has the one :)

    FQ's trips around the globe

An excellent trip there, I like a nice mix of light and heavy rail, I must admit.

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

It was excellent and there's more heritage lines to come as the diesel gala season gets into full swing :) My wife doesn't mind doing the odd round trip but definitely won't do full galas. I once took her to an ELR event (late 2004 or early 2005) and when we arrived at Ramsbottom heading...

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Well, some it of sounds a bit, shall we say, 1970s DJ. "Always get it up for a touch of the younger kind" is more than a little cringe making. As is my wont I've done a bit of research and the Sharona in question (who was 17 at the time when the now deceased lead singer of the Knack, aged...

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

It made me chuckle :) It's a good song, although to 21st century ears some of the lyrics are a bit suspect!

    Keith goes wandering

Congratulations on your clearances from me as well. Shame about your fall, though. These things can put a real dampener on an otherwise good day.

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

After yesterday's extravaganza I'm down to a mere 90 of the 120, so I should be able to get a couple more moves in before I start having to hunt for requirements. It was indeed. Most productive and very enjoyable. :)

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

I get moves envy with just about every trip report I read on here. "Ooooh, I must do that next, no wait I'll go where he's just gone. Oh hang on, that other bloke's moves look like fun" and so on and so forth :)

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

As we approached the end of March, a quarter of the way through the year, my scoring rate was a bit disappointing. With a target for the year of 366 winners I should be around 92 after three months and I was sat on 58. So when Mrs 13 suggested I break up the bank holiday weekend by having a...
