I wouldn't go as far as route branding, just some advertising for the network, especially for the x38 for getting to Derby Royal hospital and Burton. It could even be placed so that it didn't interfere with the advertising spaces. The electronic adverts that the Solo SRs had when new were very good, but it was something that didn't seem to last.
Thats strange since the Shrewsbury Evoras have quite loud announcements that mispronounce everything!

Same for some in Leicestershire on a few of the earlier electroliners it's stupidly loud on the newer ones it's quiet.
Here in Derby its the same, if you're lucky enough to catch a pulsar or gemini with working NSA on board, it's usually far too quiet and even the quietest ambience can drown out the audio. (I can't really comment on the streetlites as I've never ridden one)
The Streetlites vary considerably. Some are clearly audible but others aren't. Some also have have a habit of saying Next Stop, but nothing else...
It only did 2 trips, but I’ve known drivers purposefully swap Scanias & VDLs for a StreetLite purely for the better headlights.

I don't think any of the Star Trak systems are compatible with new tech as Leicester had to take all theirs out. Most of the tech is now over 20 years old, it last worked in 2011.
Can anyone hazard a guess at why this is not 2161 meaning the 26 plates would all be togeather.

Yes I seen it. Having new busses is great but drivers and the passengers need to look after them. I’m not saying all the drivers are bad just a select few drive like busses are go karts. I’m not knocking the drivers and I know it’s a hard job. Most of the drivers are new and I’ve noticed the training process is slack to say the least especially when I trained 4 weeks turned into one week with basically no mentoring we had to get signed off as quick as possible as they were “short of drivers”. This was a few years back now but I heard it’s still exactly the same.
They are numbered in chassis number/body number order, the 76 were more than likely due to be 26 reg in the same sequence as the others but for some reason didn’t get taxed in time so became 76s. Most operators number their vehicles in body number orders hence why sometimes the regs are in no logical order.
Looks like we will still unfortunately be stuck with 15+ year old buses on the 6 then
