What’s wrong with 47773?

I imagine the Queen Mum is a little tired after all these 65 years of service - delivered August 1964. Which was the last class 47 to receive a zero hours rebuilt Sulzer engine ?

I have just had a look at images of all of them and they are air braked only.
Fair enough, maybe makes sense as to why they didn’t sell, I thought they were going to be snapped up quickly.

VT have hired 37418 in the past, as well as Class 20s, so I suspect they may do the same if their existing diesel fleet isn't enough to cover their needs.
Too busy topping up header tanks.

60163 is being hauled to Grosmont by 66017 and operated by Vintage Trains
37240 working the Shakespeare trips on its own today.

Midland 1000 4P compound my pipe dream loco to see her on the mainline as I were too young to remember her on the mainline preservation tours although I were only a young lad.Is there a Midland 4-4-0 available to pilot?

On saturday i travelled on the Great Northern hauled by 60163 Tornado, unfortunately due to circumstances there was not anywhere i was able to get any decent photos, it was put into P1 at Carlisle, then on the return it was nearly 20 minutes late bringing the stock back into P3 so had no chance of any photos from another platform, as they wanted it away as quickly as possible'
Anyway gripe over congratulations to the A1 Steam trust and Vintage trains for a superb tour, and with no diesel on the rear from Hellifield to Carlisle and open top lights in the carriages a great run was accomplished
