Shame. The orbit E200’s were really nice buses to drive. What was the cause of the fire?YY66PCV came to Plymouth but sadly caught fire on Monday and is beyond repair
Engine overheating presumably as the first pictures I saw showed the engine on fire.Shame. The orbit E200’s were really nice buses to drive. What was the cause of the fire?

Hmmm no idea where they could be going but I'd assume either Hyde Road or maybe OldhamBuslistsontheweb shows three unregistered BZL single decks owned by TfGM - entries shown below. Is this a mistake or are there three more BZLs in store somewhere ?

These could be the three that are currently in store in Hyde Road Depot. I've heard they could be for a new/extension of a route around Hyde (Could be wrong)Buslistsontheweb shows three unregistered BZL single decks owned by TfGM - entries shown below. there's a PVR increase coming to Ashton that'll require more (presumably) BZLsThese could be the three that are currently in store in Hyde Road Depot. I've heard they could be for a new/extension of a route around Hyde (Could be wrong)
VMD671 has moved to Ashtonthere's a PVR increase coming to Ashton that'll require more (presumably) BZLs
The PVR increase from September will mainly see an increase in double decker BZL’s for an uplift on the 219, and the start of new service 388.there's a PVR increase coming to Ashton that'll require more (presumably) BZLs
Is there any clarity on the routing of the 388? Is it as it used to be?The PVR increase from September will mainly see an increase in double decker BZL’s for an uplift on the 219, and the start of new service 388.
These 3 singles are most probably also for Ashton. There’s constant issues with the 382 and the double deckers being too big for the route so TFGM agreed to provide some small single decker BZL’s - the same as used on the freebus for this service.
Personally what I would do is move the 348 to Ashton and the 382 back to StockportApart from interworking with School duties I've never understood why 382 is a double decker route as there are parts of the route where a decker sometimes struggles getting round, I'm pretty sure when 382 first started it was always operated with E200s.
I still find it odd that its operated out of Ashton Depot despite the fact it goes nowhere near the Depot.
A good few routes were removed from Stockport and transferred elsewhere when franchising started. 313/370/371 to Wythenshawe, 368 to Sharston, 382 to Ashton and probably a few more I've forgotten.Apart from interworking with School duties I've never understood why 382 is a double decker route as there are parts of the route where a decker sometimes struggles getting round, I'm pretty sure when 382 first started it was always operated with E200s.

All we know is it’s going to be similar to the 389 but extend to Hyde and also interwork with the 389.Is there any clarity on the routing of the 388? Is it as it used to be?
It feels like the “across the board” BZL decker policy at Ashton is a bit excessive on a couple of routes - the 389 definitely doesn’t need deckers, it’s empty whenever I see it![]()
Realistically the 382 should have been grouped with the small Stockport contracts won by Diamond as it would make more sense to run mellors on it but I understand it went to Ashton because there was a desire to extend it once again to Hyde, although that’s not happened as yet.A good few routes were removed from Stockport and transferred elsewhere when franchising started. 313/370/371 to Wythenshawe, 368 to Sharston, 382 to Ashton and probably a few more I've forgotten.
I would have assumed this was because downsizing the depot a bit would make it easier to relocate the operations - but then for whatever reason they transferred the 330 (which I think was originally going to be an Ashton route) into Stockport, hence the relatively small fleet of nonstandard Wright Streetdecks there. So I'm really not sure what the logic was (if someone could enlighten me that would be appreciated).
Before franchising the 382 was mostly short single deckers such as Enviro 200s and Solos, but it was not unknown for Stagecoach to put a double decker on it occasionally
I also don't understand why Stockport has a tiny fleet of only a few Enviro 200s when the rest is double deckers. There's not enough of them to be the full allocation for any given route so they seem to just show up at random on any of a few different routes. They seem like obvious candidates to run the 382 if it came back to Stockport.
Ashton depot does not have the capacity for the Denton routesAll we know is it’s going to be similar to the 389 but extend to Hyde and also interwork with the 389.
I’d disagree regrading loadings and the use of deckers on the 389, it’s an incredibly busy route and daytime trips can leave Ashton with near enough full loads, but once it’s gone round ridge hill it’s virtually empty.
What you’ll also find is when there’s a 348 or 237 loading in the bus station at the same time the 389 is quieter as the punters wanting Stalybridge will use one of them instead.

But on the same argument you could ask what’s the point in go north wests Denton depot when that work could have realistically been run out of Ashton with a few extra vehicles.
Pretty sure it does. It’s another 6/7 buses - stagecoach ran more out of Ashton than what’s run currently.Ashton depot does not have the capacity for the Denton routes
Ashton should have some BZL single decker buses as wellIn regard to 382 from what I remember before franchising started during the week most duties were operated by double deckers as they interworked with Schools at certain points of the day whereas at weekends I think it was a mixture of double and singles.
Now the only reason why 382 is double deck operated is due to the fact as I've mentioned its run out of Ashton and Ashton haven't got any single deckers in their fleet.
Because TFGM felt it could be run with deckers. Now they are not happy that most days at certain times part of the route are missed due to badly parked cars so have deceived to allocate some small singles to Ashton soley for the 382.In regard to 382 from what I remember before franchising started during the week most duties were operated by double deckers as they interworked with Schools at certain points of the day whereas at weekends I think it was a mixture of double and singles.

Only 64 Streetdeck Electroliners are due for Oldham (55 + 9) with 16 GB Kites. So they must have around 64 diesel deckers, whether thats Tridents or Enviro400 MMCs, to replaceI read something earlier that Oldham's electric fleet is due to arrive in August at some point, I wonder if this is just the Wrightbus order or a full depot replacement
As it was confirmed that Hyde Road + Oldham would be fully electrified by the end of 2026 soI read something earlier that Oldham's electric fleet is due to arrive in August at some point, I wonder if this is just the Wrightbus order or a full depot replacement

If done wisely, Oldham may retain those AD Enviro400EV from Metroline!
Most likely yesAm I right in thinking the Wright Kites will be replacing the E300s at Oldham Depot?

Currently laid up at Wigan, can't say why as yet.A question for Mr Leyland Bus
Been meaning to ask since last week!
Do you know why 4136-4140 appear to be off the road, all 5 haven't tracked since 16th June. (Well their ticket machines haven't).
Thank you!!
There's a possibility they might considering they are owned by TfGM and with Hyde Road getting it's whole depot "cleaned out" allegedly with new electric buses then it'll would make sense to move them ADE's to Oldham rather than to let's say Ashton or Sharston. As with the small amount of streetdecks went to Wigan from Hyde Road + the two single enviro200mmc's then TfGM can to do it to any vehicle they 'own'.And this will probably mark the end of B5LH operation in Oldham as well

So the 25 that are at Hyde Road could be moved over to Oldham you think
